Wonderful Relaxing Villa

We arrived when the weather changed from 3 days of rain to a wonderful sunny Caribbean climate. The Sea-moss taxi took us from the airport to a jetty on a beach where we boarded a fast boat that only took 10 minutes to get us to Nevis. We were warmly met by Ian who took us to Too Much Nice and showed us around and gave us the do's and dont's for the villa.
Too Much Nice is a lovely villa with all that you need for a wonderful relaxing time. Sitting in an elevated position the views whichever way you decide to look keep you captivated. Our favourite was sitting at the outside dining table looking at St Kitts, but even the garden at the back was well laid out with colourful plants that had been recently planted. The gazebo was also a nice place to sit to get a cooling breeze in the late afternoon and to admire the views.
The first few days we had a strong enough wind that allowed cool air to blow through the screens, meaning we did not need the drone of an air conditioning unit and could hear the local wildlife chirrup.
The main supermarkets are about 15 minutes drive away and by visiting both you can generally find everything you need (unless its Coke or Pepsi while we were there as the bottling plant on St Kitts was out of action!)
There are many good restaurants within 25 minutes drive. Because of the time of year many of the restaurants were only open a few nights a week, but there were always enough open each night to provide a choice. We had a bad meal at Mango's when we chose Jerk Chicken, which was chewy with salty bread. They did only charge us for one meal by way of compensation, but went overboard on the customer service with us being grilled by the waitress, head chef and manager all fawning to make amends, but as we are British a simple single apology is enough!
Favourite places to dine were the Yachtsman's Grill, Bananas and Golden Rock. The Indian served great food but the setting is a little sterile, so a take away, so you can eat at the villa, is a great option as is a take away pizza from the Yachtsman's Grill.
The Botanical Gardens were worth a visit, if only to see someone run (an unusual Caribbean activity) round the pond to turn on the fountain for us. There were many flowers in bloom when we visited, but as it had been so dry previously no other fountains were in operation, which was a shame as they have quite a few interesting features.
The Jeep was waiting at the villa and the service from Mervin was good, especially
Owner's Response: Thank you for your excellent review. Delighted that you enjoyed your stay at our island home, including the newly landscaped gardens and furnished gazebo which provides a new zone to guests to relax and admire the panoramic views. Glad that you were also able to enjoy some of our favourite restaurants too! Look forward to welcoming you back sometime in the future.
