Photos and Description of this 4 bedroom holiday cabin in Jemez Springs - The Pines
4 Bedrooms, 2 Bathroom Cabin With Mountain Views.
Relax at this quaint, but spacious, 1950's log cabin hidden in the Ponderosa pines at nearly 8,000 feet.
You won't want to leave the front porch with its view of Redondo Peak and regular visits from hummingbirds. Or relax in the hammock which hangs between two trees and read a book. It can't get more relaxing than that.
Four bedrooms sleep eight comfortably. But which bedroom will you choose? The Log Cabin Room? Flower room? Bird room? or Western room? They are all decorated just for you.
Within a mile of trout fishing, hiking, a restaurant and convenience store, and only a few miles from Jemez Falls, Spence Hot Springs, Soda Dam, Fenton Lake and the town of Jemez Springs. So much to do, but you may just want to sit on the porch and never leave.
This newly updated cabin is stocked with Internet, games, puzzles, toys, record player and records, iPod dock, and flat screen TV with 150 DVDs to watch. A land line phone with unlimited calls within the US is available since cell phone service is very sketchy in the area (hope you remember how to use a rotary dial phone).
Property includes a Propane grill, microwave, refrigerator and two fireplaces - one electric and one wood burning. Also a washer and dryer are available for use, but there is no dishwasher (remember, it is a 1950's cabin.)
Snuggled at the end of a neighborhood, we ask that you respect our neighbors by keeping noise down.
A perfect place for family reunions, group gatherings or just for one couple to get away from it all and listen to the pines. Oh, did I mention the pine fragrance is intoxicating?
You may see elk or deer as they mosey through the area. But, don't leave food outside or the bears may make a visit too.

About Martha Landes
I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, graduated from OU, then was a public school music teacher for 20+ years. We moved to South Dakota for 5 years where my husband was a Dean at South Dakota State Unversity and I worked as a community coach, before landing permanently in Rio Rancho, NM in 2011.
As a child, my family had a cabin in Missouri that we escaped to on a regular basis. It has always a place to rejuvenate. Now that I'm a New Mexico resident, I can't get back to Missouri very often, and missed having that relaxing getaway.
So, we bought this charming log cabin in the Jemez Mountains to do just that. After fixing it up, we decided it needed to be shared with others and are renting The Pines out during the times we aren't enjoying the amazing Jemez Moutains ourselves.
I currently own a photography business, a music publishing company and recently finished my first novel.
We hope you will consider this relaxing place as much as we do.

Why Martha Landes chose Jemez Springs
The Pines is unique in that it feels secluded, but is fairly close to others and only 50 beautiful miles from the hub of Rio Rancho and Bernalillo. Only 60 miles from Albuquerque and 40 miles from Los Alamos.
The Jemez mountains have so many amazing places to explore. I could go out daily and do just that.
This particular property is in the perfect location - At 7,850 feet elevation, it's 15 degrees cooler than in Albuquerque with no traffic noise, and green of trees surrounding the property.
What makes this cabin unique
The cozy feel of 'Grandma's house' is what hit me when I first saw this place - with the charming 1950's bones. After updating the property, it is still reminiscent of the old days, but with most of the modern conveniences we are accustomed to now.
We love sitting on the front porch with a drink in hand visiting and watching nature. Or lie on the hammock beneath the tall pines as they sway. It's very therapeutic.
