Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday home in Joshua Tree - Desert Wonderland
One Bedroom, One Bath With Wide-Open Views of Desert. Minutes from Joshua Tree.
Gorgeous, wide-open views from this unique house in Wonder Valley. The best of both worlds: in the middle of nowhere, but only 15 minutes to Joshua Tree National Park and Twentynine Palms. Sleeps two comfortably, with a futon in living space for another body or two. Indoors, you'll delight in the beautiful, colorful tile work by local artist Perry Hoffman, along with wide windows that invite the desert inside. Shaded front porch.
Swamp cooler, wood-burning furnace and space heater. WiFi included.
Lovely, peaceful walks from the house. Starry nights are stunning. On moonlit nights, you can practically read outside. Bird lizards, rabbits, coyotes, cloudbursts, wind, quiet.
We love this house. We love the desert. We are happy to open it to like-minded guests who will respect the space and the landscape, who long for some peace and quiet. If that's you, you are most welcome!
Please note that while there's running hot water for shower and kitchen, you will need to bring your own drinking water. If you want a fire, please bring your own wood.
Please...it's very important that all doors are securely closed before you leave. During your stay, feel free to open screened doors, but make sure those are shut tightly and doors again closed securely when done. Wind and desert life love to enter the place and explore!
No smoking indoors. Dogs okay but not on furniture or bed. If you have a dog, please note that there's no fence around property.

About Gabriel Arquilevich
I live in Meiners Oaks, CA, with my wife and children. I teach writing and literature at Ventura College.
Gabriel Arquilevich purchased this house in 2012
Why Gabriel Arquilevich chose Joshua Tree
I have always loved the desert, and always dreamed of a little place surrounded by silence and sand. I rented this house four years ago and kept coming back until it became clear that it's time. My wife came to love the place as well, and so it's our 'baby'.
What makes this house unique
The feel of the open skies, the beauty and play of the interior of the house, the proximity to Joshua Tree--all this and more drew us here. We love that there's no fence--just desert around.
