Secluded 1.4 acre luxury waterfront estate on the eastern shore of Bainbridge with stunning sunrises. Watch eagles fish for their daily meals, deer canter through the woods and along the beach, sea otters sunbathe on shore and other marine and wildlife enjoy the serenity of the setting.
The property begins with a tree-lined driveway of mature evergreens that continue until the beachfront begins. A stream runs through the south end of the property, emptying into the sound, helping to create the second largest estuary in the United States (Puget Sound is not quite as large as the Chesapeake Bay).
Designed as a private retreat, this spacious 2006 Nantucket style home takes full advantage of its no bank waterfront setting and panoramic views of Puget Sound, Mt. Baker, Mt. Rainier and directly across the sound, Seattle's Ballard and Sunset Hills neighborhoods. With 279 feet of private beach to enjoy all of the time, the stretch of coastline to run, walk and explore literally expands for miles when the tide is out.
On the main level multiple sets of French doors open from the great room onto a limestone patio and the beach/waterfront beyond. The elegant, yet casual decor of white walls, ceilings and woodwork are contrasted by dark hardwood floors, enhancing the view and sense of being right on the water. The wood burning fireplace in the sitting area adds warmth to the entire great room and the formal dining area takes in the spectacular sound and mountain views.
The gourmet kitchen is equipped with everything you'll need to prepare meals for large gatherings or just prepare a single and very special cup of coffee - French drip or Cappuccino! Custom cabinetry, limestone countertops, Waterworks farm style sink/faucet, Viking appliances, including a gas range top and electric ovens invite guest chefs to create memorable meals.
Just off the entryway, there is a formal TV/lounge with flat screen TV (expanded cable, HBO and Starz) and next to it a powder room and then a large coat closet.
For those who like to comb the beach, row, fish, swim and scuba dive, there is a three-quarter bathroom with large walk-in shower on the main level - enter through a side door on south side of the house next to kitchen. Across from the three-quarter bathroom is a large laundry room with full-sized washer and dryer, iron and ironing board.
The second level has a large master bedroom suite with views of the sound and mountains. It has a king-sized bed, gas fireplace, large flat screen TV with basic cable (99 stations). The master bathroom also overlooking the sound, has a picture perfect view of Mt. Rainier to enjoy from the large soaking tub with Carrara marble surround. This bathroom also has two pedestal sinks, toilet in private enclosure and walk-in shower with glass door, lined with Carerra marble, provides another breathtaking view of Mt Rainier!
There are three more guest bedrooms on the second level, all with queen-sized beds and one bedroom has a gas fireplace. There is another full bathroom on this level, which opens to a double vanity sink with Carrara marble countertop and a door that closes off the tub/shower and toilet area for privacy.
The third level is divided into a second TV room with basic cable and DVD player. There are French doors opening to a small balcony overlooking the sound and Mt. Rainier. The fifth bedroom is on the other side of the TV room and has a 3/4 bed that sleeps two and two twin beds and has a lovely water and treetop view.
Radiant heat throughout the entire home keeps the temperature constant and comfortable.
The patio off the main level has outdoor furniture, including table and chairs, lounge chairs and a new gas barbecue grill. There is a fire pit on the beach for nightly bonfires and the owner provides the firewood!

I am afraid to write how I really feel about this vacation rental because I fear I may never find an opening in the calendar after doing so. This house was amazing! The beach is right off of the patio; the few stairs this house has are wide and easy (and lots of stairs for our family of 5 with small children is a big one); the bedrooms are spacious and well appointed; the kitchen is gourmet and well stocked. My boys played on the beach every low tide for hours and the views from every room are gorgeous. I can go on and on about this house and property but I will let you book it and find out for yourself or better yet, don't book it so my family can go back whenever we want.
Our large family fit comfortably in this beautiful house. It was great to be right on the water, and we enjoyed meals out on the back porch, watching the ships come and go from the port of Seattle. The kitchen is enormous and fully equipped with everything that we could ever possibly need. The bedrooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. It was a great place for walking, kayaking, exploring local parks, blackberry picking, and just hanging out. The location made it very easy to get in and out of Seattle when necessary. Both the owner and the rental agency were pleasant and easy to work with.
Bainbridge is an island on the west side of Puget Sound directly across from Seattle. It is both a independent city/community and a suburb of Seattle with easy access by ferry boat.

During PEAK SEASON (June 1, 2015 - September 7, 2015) owner requests check ins on Saturday at 5pm with check out the following Saturday at 10am.
Owner requests guests purchase damage insurance through VRBO.com and CSA Insurance providing $5,000 worth of damage protection (current premium is $89, but this is subject to change).
Booking deposit due of $1,000 is due when rental agreement is accepted. Balance of rent and costs due ninety (90) days before check in, or if booking occurs less than ninety (90) days balance due at time of booking.
Bookings of 1 to 2 weeks, three days prior to check in a hold will be placed on guest's credit card for the $4,500.00 damage deposit.
