Photos and Description of this 7 bedroom holiday home in Ipswich
This house was built in 1760 and has been modernized without losing any of the classic period details. It's extremely spacious and offers seven bedrooms plus a screened in sleeping porch. There is great light in all the rooms and the house has views of the marsh and Castle Neck River on both sides. There is a fairly well known book written about the house called 'The Orchard,' by Adele Crockett Robertson and published by Bantam Books, 1995.
The town of Ipswich is a beautiful, friendly historic town with the largest collection of 17th century homes in America. There are wonderful restaurants in the area and plenty to do. Great public golf courses, boating, fishing and seafood. Crane's Beach and Crane's Castle is right next door and we will provide bicycles as the beach is less than a half a mile away. We will also consider use of one of our cars if the timing works out. The house also sits on five acres and has a vegetable garden and access to the river. We also have a tennis court that's great for family tennis, although it has a few small cracks so not completely tournament ready. Finally, the house is set up on a hill so gets very nice, cool evening breezes.
