We met in Alaska, got married, and are raising our 5 children in this beautiful place.
Rob Catlett purchased this house in 2011
The home was very comfortable for the 6 of us. We had plenty of room and amenities. We spent a lot of time traveling around the area but our evenings the home were comfortable and relaxing. The tall trees and blackout curtains helped with sleeping at night. The owners are close by and very friendly. We had a great family vacation
We were here over the new years holiday and had a great time. There was a nice fire pit that the kids and I had a great time building and maintaining a bone fire and we enjoyed bbqing on the grill. The house was spacious and comfortable. We appreciated and enjoyed lighting off fireworks at Rob's house on New Years eve.
They had pretty much everything we needed, bring yourself and your food. :)
On a side note while they provided plenty of drinking water for use we did opt to purchase lots of bottled water during our stay so we did not have to keep placing cups in the dishwasher so if you have a large party (we had 11 on new years) Plan to bring bottled water for convenience not need. The water was hot for every shower and there was hand soap at the sinks do plan to bring shampoo and conditioner.
There is a hair dryer there for use if you need one. We really enjoyed our time here and think anyone staying here would also enjoy it.
During New Years Eve while lighting fireworks our youngest son ended up in Rob and Lisa's house most of the evening playing with trains and when it was time to go they even packed up what he was playing with so he could play with it at the house and boy was I ever grateful at their generosity. They also gave us a tent for the kids so they could camp out in the house, that was awesome as all the younger children had a great time "camping out".
Thanks so much for making our stay welcoming and enjoyable, I can't imagine how it could have been better than it was... unless you begin to control the weather.......
This home was fabulous and clean, we came in on July 5 to see our second get married in Wasilla. This was our first time in Alaska so coming so far from Hawaii it was breath taking to see this house in the middle of the trees. We arrived to the home at about 12am so you can imagine we were tired, when we got up in the morning the owner Rob was so generous he brought up some breakfast for us knowing that we arrived so late and didn't have time to run to the store, they even had a little basket filled of goodies there for us which was such a nice treat. The home was spacious and clean, I use to have a cleaning business and had several condos that I had to clean and let me tell you that this one was extremely clean and the owners takes a lot of pride in their home. One of may favorite part of the house was having a washer and dryer in the master bedroom. My whole family enjoyed their stay and asked..... When can we come back? Looking forward to coming in the winter time and will definitely see if this home is available. Aloha, The Adarna's
I was in town for a wedding and a group of us stayed at this house for the weekend. There was more than enough space for the 6 of us. It was super clean and Lisa and Rob were great! They let us come out early and offered to bring us anything we needed, including an iron for our wedding attire. They had plenty of firewood by the fire ring, and we enjoyed sitting outside every night. I'm trying to talk my family into taking a trip next year. We will definitely stay there again if we make it back!
We had a group of 6 that LOVED this cabin! It was perfect for our stay. It could sleep up to 10 people if needed. There is no cable or internet, but that was ok for our busy group! It was clean and very well kept. Rob and Lisa were so generous and accommodating. If we come back, we will most definitely look into this cabin again!
I really enjoyed staying here! The Family that owns this rental is very nice and did their best to make sure I was comfortable. The surrounding area has a nice river and there are several lakes close by. Hatchers Pass is breathtaking and only 15 minutes away what a lovely little drive! Ive seen several moose around the property. The house is quit comfortable and having the washer and dryer was a big plus!! I will definitely be staying here when I travel back up here for work. I recommend this place for families or the traveling professional strongly. Very relaxing and quiet. Thanks for the stay!!!
