Compact and efficient but also comfortable. This was a perfect place for my son and me and friends to stay for the Ole Miss game. We comfortably walked to town and campus. The gas fireplace was great to have in the cold weather. College students were partying nearby on Friday night, but there were no problems.
Each year our group of three guys rents a house/ condo for a NCAA football game. This year we decided back in February that we would go to Oxford for the Ole Miss vs. Alabama game. We were not disappointed!
We booked the condo in March for the October game and I am glad we made arrangements so far in advance, b/c it doesn’t take long for Oxford to fill up; especially when the only hotel in town was under construction. We selected this condo for two reasons, price and location.
Location: The closer you are located to the square, the more the location demands. We actually found rentals, similar in size, asking $3,500 for the same weekend. This condo was located about 10 to 15 minute walk to the center of the Square (walk out the front door, make a left at the Chevron and you are in the Square). We didn’t seem to mind the up-hill walk to the Square considering the excitement of the weekend + you can take a rickshaw back to the condo for only $6. Very quick ride considering it is all down-hill. You will need to find a ride to the Grove from this location as it is too far to walk, but again, the price was in line with the location.
The owner: AA was very helpful and answered all of our questions prior to our arrival such as; how far the condo was from the Square/ Grove and places to eat/ drink and just have a good time.
The Condo: The photos accurately reflected the appearance of the listing as well as the amenities. We also found the condo to be clean and well put together. Although the listing says it sleeps 4, we felt that it was more comfortable as a 3 person condo. One person per bedroom and one on the couch; however, it didn’t bother us.
Overall, I would recommend this condo. Specifically for 2 couples or 3 people, ages 30-45 who don’t mind getting some easy exercise. I would also recommend the chicken on a stick at the Chevron. It’s number 2 on my top 5 best fried chicken ever.
