Comfortable and relaxing, this beach cottage is the perfect home for family vacations, girls trips and romantic getaways. With its coastal setting and location, we believe you will never forget the time you spent here at The Boxwood House. Nestled between forested hills and the beautiful Northern California coastline lies the town of Half Moon Bay. Starting as an agricultural hub for the Bay Area, this coastal hamlet remains well known for its farming roots. On the drive in you can expect to see fields of flowers, and depending on the season you can find rows of Christmas trees and pumpkin patches, or see the waves of professional and amateur surfers driving into town for the legendary Mavericks surfing events off the coast of Pillar Point, a five minute drive from the house.

thanks Joseph help us so many times, he also provide the very delicious cake and red wine, fruits to entertain us.
if we have any chance travel to San Francisco/HMB we will choose living this house definitely.
I travelled with my fiancé, daughter and my new in-laws. We were married during this trip and the owners graciously gave us a card and wine to celebrate. They also gave my daughter a lovely present to enjoy in her perfectly decorated room. A cake and pastries were supplied and after a harried long flight we appreciated the special touch. Every room is like a museum. Supplied with books and pictures and comfort. The house smelled of eucalyptus and I loved the French jazzy music supplied. The house is very meticulously decorated and the theme flowed thoughout the house. Rich thread counts and comfortable beds enveloped us. The house is stocked with everything we needed. Bring clothes and groceries and you are set. It was truly touching to have gifts and food awaiting us . Something a family member would have done. Joseph the manager, is an absolute asset. He was friendly and happy and gave us suggestions to fantastic restaurants. I needed a wedding bouquet and he suggested florists locally. We texted him and he would text back immediately. He's the kind of guy we would love to sit by the fire and tell stories with. Very approachable and knowledgeable. Whether you are travelling with family or you need to get away to rest or honeymoon this is the place to go. We are coming back. This is so close to San Francisco but yet far enough to be out of the city life. I loved being there and I will be back.!!
Fantastic home and just as advertised! Joseph was fantastic and was always available to answer any questions we had or to make recommendations. The owners were accommodating and very thoughtful. They have excellent taste and we felt very comfortable in the home even after a month-long stay. They've really thought of everything. We would be happy to stay with them again and this home is highly recommended.
Thank you for a wonderful place to retreat from the busy world. Our family of 4 stayed in this beautiful beach cottage over the New Year, and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We came worn out from the holidays and over scheduled lives to rest and rejuvenate. This house can truly be called a home because it has been set up for every creature comfort and pleasure that you can imagine. You get an instant feeling of "ahhh!" just walking in the front door. The layout of the home is warm and comfortable, yet offers enough space for everyone to stretch out and have some down time. The fireplace was a great way to settle in for a cozy evening. There is also an outdoor fire pit that we enjoyed star gazing and making s'mores with our children. What an adorable playhouse for kids too! We loved sitting outside at the fabulous table while grilling steaks for New Year's Eve. There is a patio heater and comfy blankets to ease the brisk evenings or morning coffee time. I don't even know where to start with the decorating - every room has been given the perfect touches that we all dream of. I had more fun just looking around at all of the fun memorabilia and special touches that I felt like I was taking a trip down memory lane. There isn't much besides clothing that you will need to pack because this home has just about everything that a person would ever ask for. Thank you to the wonderful owner, and also to Joseph for all of his help getting us settled in. I would highly reccomend this home to anyone, and warn you that it will be hard to leave when it's time!
My family (5 people) enjoyed a delightful 1-week stay in this comfortable home which was warm, clean and well stocked. It was an easy walk to the coast and I appreciated all the special touches...fresh muffins and chocolate cake...and the lovely beach cottage decor. We counted 38 nautical pictures in the home! This was a wonderful place to spend Christmas!
Thank you for your thoughtful way you set up this comfortable home. We relaxed, regrouped and rejuvenated. The kitchen is very well stocked, the beds and baths so comfy and the fireplace is so cozy. You have given me many great ideas for decorating my own house!
