Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cabin in Orcas
Charming cabin located on two private acres with easy access to a cove beach.
The cabin is located approximately five miles east of the Orcas Village and is truly off the beaten path. As you leave the Village, the road winds through pastoral views giving way to an old-growth forest of Douglas fir and cedar and finally to Lake Killebrew. You are venturing far from the crowds and stress of everyday life. Our cabin is situated at the end of a winding country road on the edge of a south-facing, mossy knoll with great filtered sun all day. A mix of Shore pine, Douglas fir and Madrona surround and shelter the cabin. The reflection of the afternoon sun through these trees dances across the water providing a truly magical sight.
This unique retreat provides ultimate privacy and also takes you back to an era of simpler times. An old-fashioned, wood-fired cook stove, cedar log walls, fir and pine floors, hand-peeled railings, and braded area floor rugs exemplify the décor. The main level has one bedroom, one bathroom, a great room, dining room and kitchen. The master bedroom is located on the upper level. Additionally, there is a sleeping loft and a sitting area on the second floor. A unique log stairway provides access to the lower level for storage and laundry.

We are a family of five: two adults, two teenage boys and a spaniel. For our leisure time, we enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, kayaking, sailing, skiing and backpacking. We always look forward to visiting Orcas for some of the above and much more!

Why T.K. chose Orcas
We were attracted to Orcas Island because of the natural beauty of the area. Additionally, the unique setting of the cabin provides intimate contact with nature, tranquility and ultimate privacy. We visit the cabin as frequently as we are able but it never seems to be quite enough.
What makes this cabin unique
No phones, no city noise, no internet and you rarely see another person; but, the sights and sounds of nature are all around you! We love to launch our kayaks from the cove beach and bike/hike the rural roads and trails in the immediate area of the cabin. Orcas Island provides an assortment of hiking options from sea level trails to the mountain environment of Moran State Park.
