Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday cabin in Cable - Cabin 16

3-BR/3-BA log cabin located at the end of the road up in the forested hills. The cabin is completely surrounded by the woods. Direct and immediate access from the cabin doors to the Ojibwe single-track bike/snowshoe trail, the Grand Traverse hiking/snowshoe trail, and the John Bauer ski trail which links into the whole Birkie/Korte trail system. You can literally bike, ski, hike, or snowshoe for days right from the cabin. After your outdoor adventure relax in the screened-in rear deck with a book or board game from the cabin library, watch a movie from the cabin DVD collection, take a soak in the tub, or build a fire in the side-yard fire pit and look at the stars. Inside the cabin the wood floors, beams, and ceilings give you that Northwoods feel you love. The cabin is well appointed with many modern amenities and comforts to maximize your enjoyment. The cabin has 3 queen-sized beds, cable TV, WIFI access, and an office area for those who cannot totally disconnect from the everyday. Great Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this cabin for the Birkie Weekend 2015, we are staying here again in 2016 and hopefully for years to come. Cabin was incredibly clean, kitchen was well equipped, bedrooms were bigger than anticipated. We couldn't access the Wi-fi which in my mind was a good thing and cell service through Sprint was weak but usable. Cabin had a phone for emergency. All in all I couldn't have found a better place to stay for the weekend. I highly recommend this cabin you will not be disappointed!

Cable, WI rental

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this well equipped and very comfortable 3BR log home within steps from ski trails. I can't say enough good things about the property manager and how easy it was to access the property and trouble shoot a minor issue I had with the wifi. The bedrooms were all spacious. There were six of us and plenty of room to spread out throughout the house. Two great work stations for those of us who have to check in at work and great internet access. It was cold while we were staying and the home is well insulated and heated. I only wish it had been a tad warmer so we could have enjoyed the beautiful screened porch off the kitchen/dining room area. I highly recommend this property!

Great Holiday Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful log home tucked up in the woods! We went for the long Thanksgiving weekend and enjoyed our stay. The cabin was well equipped and very nicely decorated. If there was one thing we wish it had it would be a fireplace to make those cold nights cozier. The bedrooms were spacious and bed were comfortable. The fresh snow made for beautiful scenery, we saw lots of fresh tracks everyday.

Beautiful and rustic place to gather on a mtn. bike/skiing weekend. Very convenient to access but secluded. Amazing kitchen and screened in porch to gather.

Great for Mt. Biking

  • 5 of 5

Came for a weekend trip to go biking on the trail system between Cable and Hayward. The cabin is a great location - and is very comfortable to stay in. There is a really sweet screened in porch. A couple of the group I went with slept out on the porch... great to have the feeling of fall camping right there with the comfort of a cabin.

When biking all day, also important to have good food and the kitchen was great and well-supplied with pans, utensils, etc.

So, great combination of convenience and comfort with access to adventure and nature.

Wonderful Wilderness Hideaway

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Cabin 16 during the Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival and the location was hard to beat. The cabin is in a secluded location at the end of a gravel road, with immediate access to the local MTB/Ski trail system. The cabin its self is an architectural masterpiece, you don't see cabins built like this anymore! The accommodations were very comfortable, and rooms were well appointed. The cabin was spotless when we arrived, and communication with the owner was excellent. I would definitely stay at Cabin 16 in the future, and would recommend to friends and family. The only situation in which I would not recommend, would be to those individuals with mobility constraints. This was not an issue for us, and should be evident when reviewing photos of the property. To sum it up, if your looking for a unique and wonderful wilderness vacation with all of the modern conveniences of home this is where you want to stay.
