Romantic Birthday Getaway

  • 5 out of 5
This was such a great spot! My wife and I really loved the chance to get away from Nashville without having to drive far. The style of the house was amazing, one of the most creative renovations we've seen with all the right touches. We love older homes with character and this was the perfect place for us to unwind.

We found the space very cozy and spent the whole weekend on the property picking vegetables from the garden, watching for frogs at the pond, and walking back to see the cows and Sampson the horse. We made a fire in the fire pit, cooked all of our meals in the kitchen and had plenty of space to just sit and read a book, inside and out.

The owners were very easy to work with and were very willing and quick to respond to our questions. We did have to bring a few cooking items of our own, but this was mostly because of our preferences and they were honest about what they had. They even hooked up an extra freezer for us to use!

We were told that the house is on a working farm and that it wasn't uncommon for the family to be seen driving up and down the driveway. This was true, as trucks came and went several times throughout the weekend. It was a bit more activity than we expected, but everyone was very friendly and respected our privacy!

Overall, we would DEFINITELY recommend this place and hope to make it back in the winter sometime!

Beautiful Rustic Getaway!

  • 5 out of 5
My sister and several friends and I rented this house for a weekend trip and were so in love with the rustic cottage!! Adorable details throughout the house, but also, just a relaxing and peaceful vibe. Great setting, beautiful farmland surrounding, and Anna was a pleasure to work with :-) I've already talked to my husband about staying here in the future!

Charming

  • 5 out of 5
My husband and I were in awe of this place. It is beautifully and tastefully restored. When we arrived, one of the owners was there and gave us a tour of the house. It was nice to see all the history that was kept within while incorporating new items. It would be the way I would want my retirement home to be...cozy and relaxing.

Relaxing Getaway

  • 5 out of 5
My husband and I wanted to do a last minute family getaway for a few days. He found this oh so charming farmhouse on VRBO. We absolutely LOVED the house and the farm. My daughter is still talking about Sampson the horse. The surroundings were very relaxing. We hiked Cummins Falls and Fall Creek Falls, visited local antique shops and enjoyed the quiet surroundings of the farm. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic restored farmhouse!

  • 5 out of 5
My wife and I live in Florida but own a cabin in Tennesse. On a last minute plan we were traveling to our cabin when on a whim I decided to book this farmhouse. My wife thought I was nuts! When we arrived she thought I was a genius. This place is a restored farmhouse that will make you feel like you are back in history (but with all the modern amenities). The owners did a fantastic job at restoration and we loved hearing it's history. The house is on a working farm but everyone that passed us by were so friendly and cordial we felt like family. Another really cool feature is that you feel like your in the middle of rural life but the center of town is only a few minutes away. If you like the thought of living in the past in a stone and wood farmhouse but also have all the modern day conveniences this place is for you. We can't wait to go back!

Lovely farmhouse, beautiful landscape

  • 5 out of 5
We had a large family gathering of kids and adults (coming from Milwaukee, St. Paul, and San Francisco) at Cooksville Farmhouse to celebrate my Mom's 70th birthday. We had a lovely weekend in this charming and comfortable farmhouse & beautiful landscape. We enjoyed the game room, admired the collection of books and quilts and enjoyed learning about the history of the area. We played in the yard, took a walk through beautiful yard (which includes a large grassy area, patio, firepit, prairie restoration and small barn with mules and chickens) picked a stunning wildflower bouquet, and fed the chickens. We made several meals in the fully stocked, updated kitchen and enjoyed visiting in the large sun room, which over looks the yard with beautiful views the wildflowers, which were in full bloom when we were there in July. It was a very relaxing weekend in a special place that has modern comforts with old world charm. For my Mom, it was like going back to her childhood where she spent summers on her grandmother's farm. We really loved it and hope to go back sometime.
