Located in a secluded, family friendly community, this 4 bedroom, 2&1/2 bath pool home boasts an open floor plan for easy entertaining and family gathering. A formal dining area seats 8-10 or cluster around the breakfast nook that seats 4-6. Also, there are bar stools at elevated kitchen island for four to keep the chefs entertained in the extra large chef's kitchen featuring stainless appliances. The family room with it's large screen plasma and gaming station is open to the kitchen so the whole family can gather for fun. If you need to get away from the crowd, the formal living area with vaulted ceilings and a gorgeous view of the water and orange tree is off to itself. Upstairs, the master oasis with its private sitting area and large balcony overlooking the dock and canal is the perfect place to relax and catch a glimpse of the manatee or dolphin that frequent the water below. The master bath, with its jetted garden tub, dual vanity sinks, mahogany trim and separate water closet is 200+ square feet of luxury getaway. The remaining three bedrooms and full bathroom upstairs are well appointed and provide a comfortable home-away-from-home for the entire family. The home comes well appointed with linens, kitchen appliances and utensils, shaded parking, washer and dryer, kayaks, tennis rackets, boogie boards, a bicycle, and even a beach cooler.
Outdoor living at its finest flows through from floor to ceiling sliding glass doors off the family and french doors from the formal dining room. The entire screened outdoor living space features a solar heated pool, a 6 person Bullfrog hot tub and an expansive pool deck for lounging. It also provides three seating areas, all covered. Six can dine al fresco at the patio table. The seating group with loveseat, over-sized chair, and two rockers is perfect for relaxing in the breeze and hiding from the quick 'sun-showers' that pop up from time to time. A teak bar is the ideal spot to prepare an icy island concoction. The grill is conveniently located inside the screened area. Quick access down to the dock takes you past the orange tree. If you are lucky enough to visit during orange blossom season, the smell of the flowers is close to heaven. The dock area contains another seating option with a table and benches suitable for 6. Pelicans and egrets love the dock and often come by for a visit to watch you fish or kayak.
A Brevard County native, I returned home in 2007 and chose Merritt Island as the perfect spot to be both close to everything and away from it all.

This is the family home. While we do not live here full-time, we certainly love to visit and love to share the joy of owning a Florida home with the rest of the world. Growing up in the area, I knew this was the place to be. The weather is great, the people relaxed and the pace of life a little slower than the rest of the US. The area is surrounded by bird sanctuary which means wildlife is abundant in the water and air. The beaches are wide and have perfect sand for castle-making, an important consideration when selecting a beach-going vacation.
Staying in a home instead of an hotel provides for a more relaxed and convenient vacation. Whether it is plenty of books and games stacked on the shelves to peruse or finding there is already Old Bay in the pantry for those fresh shrimp you wanted to serve for dinner, the feeling of being at home is priceless. Come relax in the hot tub as the setting sun reflects off the water and palm trees. You'll never want to leave.
The house was amazing we saw manatees and dolphins. We had as much fun just hanging out as we did at the attractions. I highly recommend this property for a great central Florida vacation.
My family and I rented this fully appointed home for a family vacation. We didn't have a lot planned but wanted to escape together with lots of possibilities. Wow, did we do it right.
We spent most of our time just hanging at the house. Although there were plenty of trips to the beach and Orlando mixed in to our days we really didn't feel the need to leave. My favorite spot was the covered sitting area inside the screened porch but near the pool. I read half a dozen books in this cozy spot.
We cooked a little, brought food in and made it look like we cooked and ventured out to visit local eateries. There are plenty of options and with a family and all the different eating requests we loved the large fridge and stove.
My communication with the owners was always promptly responded to and answers were proven accurate when we arrived. I will definitely consider this home when returning to the Florida coast.
Central Florida Attractions including Disney, SeaWorld, Universal, and the rest are easily accessible via The Beachline about 45 minutes to the West, Kennedy Space Center and the amazing Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge are 10 and 20 minutes to the North, Cocoa Beach is 10-15 minutes to the East. The home is located in a secluded, safe neighborhood with beautiful walkways to the neighborhood playground, tennis courts and gazebo overlooking the community's catch & release pond. The home's dock allows for water access to the Ulumay Wildlife Sanctuary via kayak, or just sit on the dock and watch the birds, fish and Manatees. Or bring your boat and have water access to the Banana River, Indian River and take a trip through the locks to the ocean.
