About this property

Perfect alternative to an expensive hotel room without giving up luxury or location! The apartment is on the third floor (with elevator) of a completely new building, but with original facade. It's located on a very popular street, "Calle de Huertas," situated in the Historic Center of Madrid, "Barrio de las Letras." Walking distance from the Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofia Museums, and the Palacio Real. The apartment has a king size bed, plus additional sofa beds in the living room. Lots of light and smack dab in the middle of all the must-see, desirable places in Madrid. The bedroom has 3 walls, meaning it is not totally private. A wall/closet separates the living room from the bedroom (as can be seen in the pictures).

The apartment is right next to Plaza de Santa Ana. Near Puerta del Sol and the Plaza Mayor. You can walk to La Cava Baja, Mercado de San Miguel and also to Parque del Retiro. Truly a perfect location.

Wonderful apartment, would highly recommend

We are already looking into returning to this apartment after a wonderful stay. The location is fantastic, you really are right in the centre exactly where you want to be when staying in Madrid. Supermarkets are very close and I would recommend Matute for dinner which is just round the corner and does lovely food and drinks. It was perfect for us as a couple but as the bedroom is slightly open I wouldn’t want to go as a four (personal choice as I like my space) but for two is perfect. It is a city so expect the usual city noises and it is an apartment block so you can occasionally hear neighbours but everyone seemed very considerate and we weren’t disturbed by noise. The whole process was very smooth from booking to checking out and the communication about the apartment was great with a really helpful welcome email attachment from Gorette. The apartment is exactly as it looks in the photos if not better. We were met by Alicia who was incredibly friendly and helpful (she doesn’t speak much English but there is a complete manual to explain everything if you need it). We had a very much appreciated welcome pack including tea/coffee/cake/bottle of water and a bottle of wine and there was a small but well thought out basket with toiletries if needed (including hair cap/ shaver and gel/shower gel/toothbush and toothpaste). The bed is large (2 singles together with a topper) and comfy if a little on the soft side (depends how you like your bed). Bedding and towels was to a good standard and the apartment was incredibly clean (I was very impressed). The only down side and it really is scraping the bottom of be barrel to find anything is the water pressure is a bit on the low side and there is a knack to the hot water in the shower but these really are so minor and didn’t affect our stay at all. We were fortunate enough to meet Gorete during our stay and she was lovely and gave some helpful pointers of things to do. She obviously really cares about her apartments and that her guests have a lovely time. If you are thinking of renting an apartment in Madrid would highly recommend going with Gorette.

Highly Recommend. Perfect Location

A lovely weekend and Gorete was so responsive and helpful. The apartment has everything you need and is very comfortable. It is a lively neighbourhood but with so many lovely tapas bars and so many major attractions close by, it really is the place to stay.

Fantastic

Fantastic location, and fantastic flat. Had everything you might need. Small step out balconies allowed us to see the people below and soak up the atmosphere. Would stay here again in an instant.

Why they chose this property

Location, location, location! This is smack-dab in the middle of the historic Barrio de las Letras (Literature Neighborhood) very romantic, safe and with countless places to eat, people-watch, on a pedestrian street (no traffic).

What makes this property unique

The building was completely gutted a few years ago and they saved the facade and the 100 year old staircase, but everything else is brand-new modern construction. We have furnished and equipped the apartment with everything we would like to find in a rental, we use VRBO ourselves when we travel so we understand that small details are paramount. Besides, we have lived in Madrid for manyyears, so we are happy to steer you to the best suggestions, whether they are restaurants, site seeing, shopping, trendy restaurants, family places or unique Madrid experiences depending on your date of travel.
