La Moutte offers the ultimate location and accommodation for families and groups of friends who want to celebrate those special occasions in style. This beautiful 19th Century country house has breathtaking mountain views, its own swimming pool and tennis court and is set in four acres of garden and 250 acres of private woodland ensuring peace and privacy.

The interior is furnished to a high standard and can easily accommodate 12 to 16 people. The kitchen and kitchen terrace, dining room, lounge and TV room are all on the main floor along with a bedroom with en-suite shower room and a separate bathroom, making it ideal for disabled access.

Outside are three lawn terraces, ideal for games. The 13mx6m swimming pool has an approved safety fence, a pool room with shower and bar, and a patio area, the perfect place for an evening barbecue (BBQ provided). The pool is visible from the kitchen and the covered terrace. There is a volleyball area and a hard tennis court

Golf: There is a golf practice net in the grounds. Four good courses are within an hours drive.

General: La Moutte offers the ideal venue for families or groups of friends who want space, privacy and comfort in the heart of the beautiful Provence countryside

We all really enjoyed our stay at La Moutte. It was really lovely being able to entertain our friends without having to do the cooking! Mme Wilmet did us proud and she also cooked again for us on our last evening.



La Moutte was ideal for our family holiday. The men made full use of the competitive games available especially the pool table, dart board and boule, and everyone enjoyed the tennis court and swimming pool. We appreciated the quietness and beauty of the surroundings and enjoyed exploring the nearby villages and their restaurants. The Wilmet boys were very helpful and we took advantage of their suggestion that we should pick ourselves some cherries from the fruit trees; they were delicious. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would have liked to have stayed longer.

La propriété est Superbe mais l'entretien l'est moins. Que de désillusion avons nous eu. Dont la piscine "tournée" et les désordres intestinaux en résultant. Soit disant des chaleurs exceptionnelles, on est dans le "midi"!!!! Des vélos oui, mais inutilisables, des raquettes de ping pong, oui mais "plus qu'usées, des moustiquaires qu'il n'est pas question de manipuler sans ennuis. Deux fours mais petits et l'un ne marchant pas. Le tennis fissuré avec un filet inamovible les pelouses, pas tondues J'en passe. Nous avons tenté de discuter avec les propriétaires qui n'ont jamais voulu rien entendre. Des gardiens gentils mais reconnaissant le manque de moyens alloués pour que la propriété soit à la hauteur de la publicité qui en est faite. c'est sur payé.

Owner's Response: This family spent 1 week at La Moutte from 11 to 18 August 2013. During their stay they did not contact us once despite having our personal mobile number and having had conversations with us, in both French and English, before they arrived. Neither did they ask the guardians to address their issues (apart from the pool), nearly all of which could have been answered/resolved at the time. The pool was affected by the weather conditions in the area as were many other local pools; we called in professional help to test and treat the water (which was found to be safe) and this was done during their stay. They e-mailed us on 26 August; we went to La Moutte to investigate their points and replied in full to the family on 8 September. We have been renting out La Moutte for many years and have had hundreds of guests staying for between one and four weeks at a time, including guests who come back year after year. The guardians on site are there to sort out the inevitable maintenance issues that arise and also to help our guests with anything they may not understand or can't work. This is the first time that we have had such comments; indeed, we get lots of reviews praising the guardians and the standard of the house and grounds.

Fox Amphoux is a small historical village close to the thriving market towns of Aups and Barjols. Nearby are other beautiful Provence towns such as Lorgues, Cotignac and Tourtour. Numerous local restaurants serving Provencal cuisine are within 30 minutes drive. Day trips can be taken either to the fabulous Cote d’Azur or the lake and mountain areas of Verdon, Grasse and Lac de St Cassien, where all the usual water sports facilities are available . There are four golf courses within an hours drive.

Four international airports serve the area. Marseille, Nice and Toulon are between one and a quarter and one and a half hours away whilst Nimes is just under two hours away.

Accommodation is on three levels. The main floor has a large farmhouse style kitchen with a table to seat twelve and access to a covered terrace which seats 16; separate dining room to seat sixteen; lounge with stereo system, two leather sofas and chairs; satellite TV room with video and DVD; games room with table tennis, darts, cycling machine, multi gym and hand weights; and a French /American pool table room. Also on this floor is a twin bedded room with ensuite shower room/wc and a separate bathroom/wc. On the upper floor is the master bedroom with its own roof terrace (ideal for breakfast!) that can sleep from two to six; this can also be used as a family room or a children’s room. There are two further bedrooms, one double and one twin bedded, and a separate bathroom/wc. On the lower floor there is a large hall giving access to a twin bedded room with en-suite shower room/wc and a twin-bedded room with ensuite bathroom/wc. There is also a separate laundry room
