Available to rent is a unique contemporary home that occupies the top floor of our three-unit residence. Designed by Seattle architect Ray Freeman in 2001 this building retains within the original 1908 house. Due to new zoning regulations remodeling this house meant loosing about a third of its size. The original house was instead raised to the middle level the underneath excavated and a new earthquake resistant foundation and framing put in place. The top unit was then newly added.
A strategy of interconnected rooms and flowing spaces was used making hallways unnecessary. The open floor plan with the many windows and high ceiling that allow the lofts gives the unit an airy and spacious feeling.
This third floor unit is near the corner of NW 64th St and 24th Ave NW half way up a long slope. The combination of this two results in a nice view of the iconic Seattle skyline, the space needle and Mt. Rainier from the entrance and window and South facing loft.
The property is located just a half mile from the Ballard downtown core and NW Market St. We are within walking distance to all the many outdoor and indoor attractions Ballard has to offer. Public transportation is steps away with the bus stop at the corner of our block. Downtown Seattle and the stadiums are 5 and 7 miles away respectively; 15 minutes by car and about 40 minutes by bus.
Standard amenities like the ones offered in hotels are included here; iron and ironing board, hair dryer, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, coffee maker, toaster, toilet paper, clean linens and towels.
The kitchen has a gas stove and oven, full fridge, dishwasher, cooking utensils, pots and pans, dinnerware set for 8 person. We have a Keurig coffee maker with some coffee pods included to get you started in your morning coffee. There is an electric teakettle and toaster.
The round table is expandable from 4 to 8 people allowing your entire group to come together for dinner. Extra folding chairs are stored away in the closet near the entrance.
In each of the two bedrooms we have installed wall-mounted drop-leaf desks that are out of the way when not in use but, are perfect for those needing to get some work done while in vacation.
The 39' flat HDTV in the living-room comes with 40 plus antenna channels and Netflix access included via a Roku player that has over a hundred internet channels that you can use.

If you are familiar with Seattle you know how beautiful, cosmopolitan and welcoming this city is. When previously living at the north-end of the city we found our-selves coming back to Ballard again and again. We chose to live in Ballard because we believe it is the best neighborhood of Seattle (voted by locals in Seattle's Magazine as the best). There are lots of outdoor activities to do as well as shops and great restaurants to visit and reach all by foot from our home.
Have a big family, perhaps some of them kids? Our property makes great use of space with two private bedrooms, each with queen beds in it. Additionally there are two lofts with two additional beds in them that kids just love!
My family had the pleasure of staying here for a week in June. We had a phenomenal time, and the house was perfect for our needs. The apartment is so unique, and despite seeming small initially, it was actually quite spacious and comfy! The owners are kind, responsive, and tremendously helpful!
This was our first visit to the Seattle area and we really loved staying here. The place was very clean and modern, and yet felt very comfy and homey. I loved the ability to have the 4 separate rooms for myself and our young adult children. It was so close to the main street, Market, that we could walk for drinks and for the wonderful Sunday Market, and yet still close to Downtown to see Pike's Market and the wonderful Public Library. And if you love good food try La Isla, a Puerto Rican delight right on corner of 24th and Market!
We had so much fun staying in our rental in Ballard. It was very comfortable and so convenient to our daughter's home and downtown Ballard. Mario was so helpful and was always there when we needed him.

1. Great location-- walkable to many restaurants, bus stops to downtown seattle,grocery stores, hair/nail spas,pubs, bakeries. 2. attentive host-- all concerns were addressed promptly. 3. beds were comfortable, living quarters were very clean, great kitchen to prepare meals with. 4. lots of windows so very sunny and breezy. Would certainly recommend this place to friends/family and would return for sure!
We had 5 adults stay in the apt for a week. It was very clean and comfortable (especially the beds). The apartment descriptions are all accurate. Ballard is a nice neighborhood. We had convenient parking and were fairly close to a QFC grocery store. We used the kitchen daily for coffee and breakfast (it's small but has everything you need). I would highly recommend this place to anyone!
