Photos and Description of this 4 bedroom holiday home in Guilford - Lichen
Sleeps 8. 4 Bedrooms. 2.5 Bathrooms.
Lichen is a comfortable open plan home, designed to allow for carefree and peaceful holidays. Water-views abound from almost every part of the house, while lawn and deck offer plenty of space for sunbathing and eating outdoors. Access to the waterfront is directly off the rocks and float at the front of the house. There's a Weber charcoal grill and picnics can be enjoyed on the broad deck. There are four bedrooms on the second floor, all with convenient lighting and ceiling fans. Three have queen beds with storage drawers beneath, and the fourth has four twin beds with storage drawers. All but one room have water views and the master bedroom has access to its own roof deck. A laundry alcove is in the hall. A shower room with dressing space and a full skylight bathroom with tub complete the upstairs. The first floor is an open space with one 'away' room on the north end. Two sitting areas, a dining area and kitchen surround a central fireplace in case of a summer cold snap! The kitchen is well-equipped and great for folks who love to cook. It has a 6-burner Viking range, two sinks, dishwasher, generous refrigerator and microwave. French doors open onto a deck that wraps the front of the house with wide steps down to the lawn. Closer to the waterfront is a broad patio with fireplace and seating wall on the rocks at the water's edge, a great place for star-gazing.

About Christina Hutton
I grew up spending wonderful summers next door at a cottage my grandparents purchased in 1930. When the place next door came up for sale in 1989, my husband and I became its new owners in order to create a bigger gathering place for our large extended family. It continues in that role today.

What makes this house unique
Lichen is part of a quiet and friendly neighborhood in an association which owns a beach down the way. The waters off Tuttles Point offer fishing, swimming, kayaking, and its protected nature is wonderful for young children. More ambitious adults can use the dock as embarkation point for paddling all around the Guilford and Madison waters, out to Faulkner's Island Light and the Thimble Islands. Ospreys, herons, gulls and many other shorebirds enjoy the area's protected waters and rich tidal marshes. The neighborhood is great for walking, bicycling, and riding tricycles.
