Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday cabin in Jemez Springs - Woman's Hot Spring Hideaway
Guesthouse At The Giggling Springs With Hot Spring Pool To Yourself At Night
Need a place to write that new song or work on your book? Maybe just a place to get away from it all and spend some quality time with your Self? Or, if you're searching for a most amazing and extraordinary gift to give to a special woman in your life, check this out!
We rent to one woman at a time for the purpose of providing a safe and solitary space for the creativity and rejuvenation of women.
(No exceptions. Any visitors you entertain must be done off property).
Stay in our private guest house with full access to the magical and therapeutic natural outdoor hot mineral spring pool in back!
Whether you're a Goddess of the Arts looking for spirit renewal and inspiration, or an exhausted Mom in need of 'Me' time, you'll find it easy to receive inspirations and enjoy the expanding feeling of the boundlessness of your own spirit here.
There's nothing like the feeling of soaking quietly alone in this healing water under an enchanting blanket of New Mexico stars or a mesmerizing bright full moon.
You'll be staying in a historically significant 100+year old guest house (renovated from its previous life as an old sheepherders cabin) with full access to the hot spring pool during both the days and nights of your entire stay.
During the day, we operate a small hot spring business here (Giggling Springs Hot Springs) so there may be people in and near the pool, but you are welcome to join them.
A swim suit or other appropriate attire is required during the day.
At night, it's ALL YOURS! Enjoy a rare opportunity to soak privately under the night sky in the warm womb of Mother Earth.
This is something that maybe every woman should experience at least once in their life!
We maintain the pool and water with green technologies--no chemicals, and the property is fenced so no one else will have access to the pool area after the business closes. (Other than our cat, Leo and maybe the local racoons).
The Jemez River babbles along just off the back porch of your guest house, too. You'll find a hammock, chairs and a picnic table on its bank where you might want to have a picnic near the river or work on your next (or first!) best-seller out in the sunshine!
We're within walking distance of the Village restaurants, but you're welcome to bring your own meals. There is a kitchen in your hideaway with a refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot, etc. We also provide the linens, towels, flashlight and a robe for your use while here.
There are many wonderful places to enjoy in the Jemez Mountains, but we recommend that you consider saving them for another time and just burrow in here and concentrate on your Self and your creativity.
Enjoy the opportunity for pure solitude and thorough relaxation that's sometimes so hard to come by these days.
The owners live on site in the main cabin and will be available in case of emergency and for information, but the intention is to leave you alone and respect your space and your privacy.
(We're happy to extend the consideration of any special privacy concerns to our publicly recognizable guests, as well. We welcome and respect all levels of creative feminine energy and genius!)
The Hot Spring Hideaway can be rented for a weekend, from Friday afternoon until Monday morning.
This gives you 3 full nights to immerse into your own private geothermal escape.
Arrangements can be discussed if you'd like to stay longer, but shorter stays are not available.
This is truly an opportunity unlike any other you'll find!
We sincerely hope and believe it will be the perfect jump start towards your next big hit!
Reserve your sabbatical now at the introductory price while this uncommon opportunity is available!
- not suitable for children
- pets not allowed
- wheelchair inaccessible
About Tanya Struble / Therese Councilor
Tanya is a Real Estate Broker and has her own company Gaining Ground Realty, Inc. here in the Village, and Therese is an artist of assorted mediums, including the wood carvings and sculpture at the pool, and paintings (acrylics) that are sold in the on site gift shop/gallery, as well as jewelry and other crafts.
We both love music and enjoy playing our guitars together.
We love to travel and hope to do more of it in the future.
We've been together for over 23 years and were finally legally married in New Mexico in 2013--right here on this property!
We consider ourselves fortunate to be the owners and caretakers of this amazing place, and we're happy to be able to make it available to you and look forward to seeing you here!
Tanya Struble / Therese Councilor purchased this cabin in 1995
Why Tanya Struble / Therese Councilor chose Jemez Springs
We 'got lost' driving from Santa Fe back to Albuquerque one day and ended up on what is now 'National and State Scenic Byway, Hwy 4.'
Like many people who come through here, we fell in love with the natural beauty of the area and ended up moving to a small cabin a few miles from here 2 weeks later!
After about a year, this property had a 'For Sale by Owner' sign up, and we put together some friends as partners and bought it.
People thought we were out of our minds. The buildings were old and falling down and everything needed a LOT of work.
After 3 contractors refused to work with us on restoring the buildings, (all said 'Bulldoze and start over!') we were put in touch with a gentleman who had owned and renovated a cafe across the road years before.
He was living in CA, but said he'd been wanting a reason to move back to the Jemez.
So, we met with Daniel near the river in back on Easter weekend (1995) and things just fell into place easily with him.
He moved to a place nearby and during the first year and a half, we renovated 4 cabins here.
In his quiet and talented way, he taught us how to fix pretty much anything. When we can't figure it out, he is always ready and willing to lend a hand.
The original bath house of the Jemez area sits on this property, so we were hopeful of being able to find and bring back the hot springs. After renovating cabins we focused on the water, and it told us where it was by way of a rusty coat hanger we dug out of the dirt and made into a dowsing rod.
To say these years here have been a learning experience is an understatement--and we still learn something new here everyday.
This is a special place and words can't convey the experience of it--we look forward to sharing it with you!
