KERA VILLA is set in an acre of olive trees + gardens (with your own 10x5m private pool) and directly overlooks the sea and unspoiled sandy beach of Kera Bay and has superb sea and mountain views. This spacious, beautiful home is equipped to a very high standard for a maximum of FOUR guests to enjoy. It has a very attractive, open plan, split-level layout with an enormous lounge/dining area (10x6m), fitted kitchen plus a large lower sitting room. All these rooms have views across the bay. With high ceilings and many large patio doors the property remains cool in summer. Double aspect doors/windows keep the bedrooms cool WITH AIR CONDITIONING for any really hot nights. The bedroom balconies provide direct access to the wonderful pool area surrounded by flowering plants and olive trees. The two large bedrooms + pool area have super mountain views. There are open and covered terraces to provide sun or shade throughout the day and great places to eat or relax. Both Almerida and Kalyves (5 min drive or 10-20 min walk) have lovely blue flag beaches and many seaside tavernas and shops.
FREE WIFI IS AVAILABLE on a 'reasonable use basis' as is the AIR CONDITIONING in both bedrooms.
PRIVATE SWIMMNG POOL: The swimming pool is 10 x 5 metres plus Roman end steps and is at a constant depth of 1.4 metres. It is totally secluded as the pool and the very large tiled area are surrounded by olive and fruit trees plus other specimen plants making this a very attractive area of the property for both swimming and relaxing. In addition there are lovely views across our olive trees towards the White Mountains. It is a favourite part of Kera Villa for many guests.
BEDROOMS: Both bedrooms are large with one having a king-sized bed with new memory foam mattress and the other 2 twin beds. Both have fitted wardrobes and bedside tables and lights. The bedroom balconies overlook the pool and stairs lead down from them to the pool area below. At one end of the pool area a covered veranda provides a shady spot for reading, relaxing or eating and drinking. In addition there are chairs, a table, sunbeds and a sun umbrella located elsewhere around the pool.
AROUND THE VILLA : From the lane you wend your way along our private drive through the olive trees (that are illuminated in the evenings) to the far end of our land to the villa. It is located overlooking the bay to maximise the superb sea views. There is a large covered terrace (with built-in BBQ plus dining table and chairs) accessed from the lounge through the patio doors which will fold back completely. Go through the stone archway and there is a veranda which runs across most of the front of the house and provides an ideal location for relaxing or dining in the shade whilst listening to the waves on the beach below. In addition at the front there is also a large stone-paved area directly overlooking the bay below which is ideal for somewhere to eat or read in the sun or shade. The sheltered side terrace provides a perfect place for breakfast especially on windy days with a new stone arch - framing another super view. From the villa you get amazing skies as the sun rises over the small island in the bay and above the Drapanos mountain.
BEACHES : A short stroll along the lane leads to the unspoilt Kera beach in one direction or walk the other way and you can go down to a lovely, small and often deserted cove on the other side.
GARDENS AND ROOF TERRACE: The villa has a very large flat roof terrace and a large furnished room both of which have stunning panoramic views across Souda Bay and the Apokronas peninsular and is a great place for watching the sunset. Very good quality dining table, chairs and sun loungers are provided so that this is a most attractive area to sit and relax in the sun or shade or where you could have a simple meal or drink while admiring the views, sunset or just star-gazing. The tiled area in front of the room (which has a fridge for drinks!) leads onto a section of the terrace which is covered with green Astroturf and has glass walling on two sides to create a relaxing, seamless view of the Aegean Sea below.
GARDEN: There are young fruit trees along one side of the garden and over 50 olive trees. Close to the house there are different areas filled with specimen plants and flowers to provide all year round colour and interest and to make the setting for your holiday as attractive as possible.

Our main home is still in England in a small rural village. We are now both retired and able to spend more time in our lovely holiday home by the sea in Crete whilst also renting it out to provide us with some income.
Location was the absolute key for us - as near to the sea as possible but with beautiful mountain views as well - and within walking distance of tavernas and some shops and only a short drive from larger shops and other amenities ..... and a much warmer and sunnier climate than in the UK.
We found the perfect location - but our budget meant buying a property that needed quite a lot of work to make it a very special, luxury home. Many years later we are still continuing to improve Kera Villa and its acre of land - but as one of our reviewers wrote - 'Kera Villa was perfect when we visited 4 years ago but Pattie and Mick have managed to even improve on that'!
More than anything it is the superb sea views from almost all windows and terraces that makes Kera Villa the ideal place for a really relaxing holiday. You will have your own lovely private pool surrounded by flowering plants and olive trees and are only a short walk down the lane to a small unspoilt sandy beach - perfect for paddling and swimming. Kera Villa provides a very special, high quality home with spacious rooms and a kitchen stocked with herbs and spices etc - not a barely equipped rental property.
