Great house on the water down the street from the beach
We had a great time at the property with its large deck overlooking the water and stairs down to the cove. We used the kayaks in the cove and saw porpoises off blockhouse point. Swimming at Wadsworth Cove Beach was very nice. Check in was easy. Good communication with Mary Lou. You can walk to Witherle Woods where there are nice trails. House was well provisioned. Downstairs twin beds were a little soft but great for kids.

Views, views and more beautiful views!
We just got back from a perfect vacation at the Peregrine house! The house was very comfortable with views from every window. Sitting out on the deck, watching a neighboring bald eagle fly by during a spectacular sunset or spying on sea lions with your morning coffee was all the reason you need to stay at this lovely home. Mary was a great host by making sure that everything was to our liking. Our only complaint and it was a minor one, was the need for the lawn to be mowed. It was nearly 8 inches long during our week here and could be blamed on a shortage of landscaping crew, thanks to Covid or the heavy rains they experienced the previous week. Small issue however, since we'd be eager to spend another week in the future.

Large extended family, children and grand-children. Born in Maine, schooled in Bangor to college level, now living in Bangor/Brewer area.

Why they chose this property

Built in 1973, original owner/builders from Cape Cod were all about details. House was positioned facing slightly South, to afford spectacular sunsets all across front windows, all year long. Cathedral ceilings and well insulated, orig. owners incorporated materials brought back from their world travels into the home. Cypress plank wall from Fl, brick hearth from Boston bldg.smokestack, copper lanterns
driftwood memorabilia, paintings and carvings, etc.
Present owners have included numerous photos and paintings to add to the decor, as well as telescopes and hi-power binocs to enhance the views.

Builders of this house were all about details, as evidenced by facing the home slightly South to gain
a view of the incredible sunsets all year long, across the front windows. Originally electric heated and well insulated, now has new System2000 oil hot-water baseboard throughout.

What makes this property unique

Peace and quiet with exceptional views across Wadsworth Cove and Penobscot Bay, Islesboro Island and Camden Hills in background. Flowering trees and shrubs, wild roses, geese , sea ducks, and deer families grazing on the lawns of a nearby estate. Unique public beach at end of road, safe swimming/boating/ beach-combing.
