A delightful 4 bedroom 17th century country home located in Smarves, a small village just 8kn south of the historic city of Poitiers, in the heart of the Poitou-Charentes. The village has good amenities all within a few minutes’ walk of the house.
Maison Magique sits on over an acre of land with swimming pool, expansive manicured lawn and maze.

This refurbished home offers a peaceful country setting and spacious accommodation on two floors which includes spacious living room with comfortable sofas and original fireplace, TV, DVD, C player. Formal dining room. Country style eat-in kitchen with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, oven and microwave. A utility room with washing machine is adjacent to the kitchen. Lovely guest bedroom (The grey suite) with ensuite shower room. Separate WC.
The master bedroom with ensuite bathroom is located on the first floor together with two additional charming guest bedrooms, the Pink Room and the Yellow Room (the latter boasting an original fireplace) and a full bath.
The house is surrounded by expansive grounds, with mature trees, large lawn area and also a maze (ideal for children). Private pool (12 x 5m - depth 1m – 1.80m) with sun terrace and loungers. Outdoor dining area just off the dining room with table chairs and BBQ.

You can play golf at nearby Mignaloux Golf Course, drive along the magnificent Atlantic coastline which has gorgeous beaches from child-friendly to surfers’ paradise or cruise up the Charente river. You can cycle through the vineyards of Cognac Country, discover the region’s award winning villages and wines or pilot a punt through the green waterways of Marais Poitevin or again enjoy the over 50 festivals and markets all over the region throughout the year.
Also, the chateaux-dotted Loire Valley is approximately one hour from the house and Paris is just 90 minutes away via TGV.
The ancient capital of Poitou, this medieval city is a town to stroll around at leisure. Llife here is centred around the tree-lined 'Place du Maréchal-Leclerc', with its popular cafés and lively outdoor culture in the summer (at Christmas it becomes an ice-skating ring) and cobbled, pedestrianised streets flanked by a mix of centuries-old architecture and half-timbered houses, many of which have been transformed into lovely little boutique shops, and 'Place Charles-de-Gaulle' to the North, where a big and bustling food and clothes market takes place daily, plus a bric-a-brac one on Friday and Saturday mornings. The place is also the home of the Notre-Dame-la-Grande church, one of the town’s star attractions.
