With your own fully equipped kitchen, you'll be able to take advantage of the glorious array of fruits and vegetables at the nearby market. Shops, restaurants, museums, and public squares are nearby.
With easy access to taxis and public transportation, this secure, centrally located apartment is a wonderful point from which to explore Cuenca. The building also provides both open-air and rooftop areas for relaxing. Wifi, washer/dryer, and DirecTV are available for your convenience.
With one queen-sized bed, the apartment works best for one or two people, but a sofabed and twin air mattress are also available.
Check-in/check-out times are enforced only if guests overlap on the same day.
I live in the U.S., but enjoy visiting South America. Will I retire to Cuenca one day? Perhaps.

This building was featured in the New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/08/greathomesanddestinations/08iht-reecuador08.html?_r=0) as an example of colonial buildings in Cuenca being renovated on the inside while retaining the original facade. After staying in the building on my first trip to Cuenca, I was lucky enough to find out that one of the apartments was available.
Great central location, while being just far enough from the main square to be a bit more quiet. The building is secure and has friendly occupants.
We had so much fun during our week in Cuenca and this proved a perfect starting point for all our activities. We walked almost everywhere but when we needed a cab or bus, we never walked more than a block or two. Plenty of nice restaurants nearby too. The unit was clean, well maintained, and the bed was comfortable. Loved the open air spaces and the view from the rooftop - just wish we had more time to enjoy them!
We booked this the night before arrival and Natalie, the host, responded promptly and ensured check-in went smoothly - great price too. The very clean apartment is in a historic building with a modernized interior, and located perfectly for the cities many churches, plazas, shops, and anything else Cuenca can throw at you.

This apartment is located perfectly, close to the main square, but far enough to reduce congestion. The apt. Feels very safe, the shared outside spaces are quite lovely. There is a bit of traffic noise as one side is on the street, but by 10pm the noisy was minimal and did not intefer with sleep (even though one of us is a light sleeper). It is nicely furnished, nice kitchen and nice bathroom. Both Natalie (owner) and Alajandra (on-site manager) were very friendly, helpful, and responsive to all inquiries. We were there for 10 days and found the apt perfect for our needs. We were able to walk to all the "old city" attractions, found wonderful restaurants within walking distance, and located markets close by to meet our shopping needs (coffee, water, etc.). We would definitely stay again, and are thinking about a month long stay next year.
Winner of Outside Magazine's 2014 Travel Awards for 'Best Adventure Hub,' Cuenca has something for everyone, whether heading to the Cajas National Park or staying in the colonial center of town. Cuenca has numerous museums, restaurants, markets, and architectural delights. Bus tours depart from the main square, and the biggest challenge is deciding what to do.
