New Suffolk is a small, quiet hamlet that lies between Mattituck and Cutchogue. Situated on a quiet road off of New Suffolk Avenue is this spacious, comfortable and fun home. The front of the property is covered with trees giving the house a very private feeling. The house has three levels so families can enjoy a great holiday together without being on top of each other. It sleeps 6-8 and has central a/c and wifi throughout the house.
On the ground floor is a one car garage and the entrance to the private finished basement which has a full bathroom with a stall shower. In this room is a queen size bed as well as a big sectional couch and a large flat screen television with dvd player. It’s a perfect room for the kids to watch a movie while the adults enjoy some wine on the deck. There is a laundry room on this level with a washer and dryer.
On the main floor is a large living area and dining area with lots of windows and natural light. On this level is also the kitchen, a full bathroom with bathtub and shower, and two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a queen size bed and the other has two single beds and a trundle bed.
On the 3rd floor is a bedroom with a half-bathroom and a queen size bed. This bedroom has a small flat screen tv and cable. In the alcove area outside this room is a futon couch which can sleep one adult or two children.
A large deck wraps around the main floor of the house and overlooks the pool and jacuzzi. There is a gas bbq, outdoor seating and a retractable awning. The property is full of mature shrubbery and trees which provide a lot of privacy. The pool has a safety fence around it and the yard is also completely fenced in so it’s a great space for children to play. There is a small play set in the back. We also have soccer balls, beach chairs, boogie boards, pool toys and plenty of things to keep kids busy. The stairs to the driveway and the backyard both have gates so small children can’t get out on their own.
The lovely beach of New Suffolk is .5 mile away. It is a 10 minute walk or a 3 minute bike ride. Just nearby there are beautiful walks to the protected marshes, inlets and small ponds of New Suffolk. A short drive away you can enjoy all that makes the N. Fork special: boating and fishing, wineries, farm stands, seafood restaurants and unspoiled beaches.
For anyone interested in a winter rental the house has a wood burning stove as well as a stone fireplace and oil heat.
We are a family of four. Our kids are 6 and 8 years old. We have always loved the the N. Fork and for the past few summers we rented vacation rentals in the area. In 2012 we decided to take the plunge and buy our own place. We live overseas during a large part of the year so we wanted our children to be able to have real American summers with the beach, ice cream trucks, fireflies, carnivals and miniature golf. We love having enough space to have family and friends join us in the summer.

I don't know how we got so lucky, but we did and I couldn't be more grateful. This picture perfect house (actually, the pictures don't do it justice) is a five minute walk to the beach and smack in the middle of all the action. The house was comfortable for 6 adults and a child but could sleep even more without issue. Perfect layout (we all had privacy) and clean as a whistle. The pool was AMAZING. We used it all day, every day and the outdoor area is perfect for entertaining. We grilled and enjoyed meals on the deck, we played games on the lawn, we listened to the birds every morning from the side patio ... did I mention how great this place is? Last but not least, the owner Pam is a complete saint. She makes it easy to take care of this house as if it was your own. She even purchased our beach passes for us - which was too kind! Payments were seemless and there were NO issues while we were there. Pam just wants to make her house guests happy and I admire that. It was just the perfect summer vacation. We are counting the days until we can return again!

It's very private but also close to everything on the beautiful North Fork of Eastern Long Island, NY.
We love the spacious open floor plan...great for entertaining or just relaxing and taking in the views of nature. Very clean and comfortable beds and furnishings and a nice large functional kitchen. The Baths are also spacious and up to date.
Very close to an excellent restaurant, Legends, that overlooks the water.
As we were there in the "off-season" the we did not have access to the beautiful pool.
We would highly recommend this property for use anytime of the year.
The North Fork has many activities in the Fall...Wine Tasting at the many Vineyards, Pumpkin picking, corn mazes, horse riding...and various things for children and adults.
We plan to visit this property again in the future.
We were a 6-month rental from October 2013 through April 2014 while our home was being renovated. The house is excellent with a 2.5 story high living room (like a great room with couches, armchairs, ottomans), fully stocked kitchen (with plates, glasses, silverware, all cooking utensils, baking pans, etc, etc - you do have to bring your own food!), large master bedroom (furnished), good size kids room (with two twin beds), large ground level bedroom and good size 2nd floor bedroom. Sheets, towels, pillows, blankets, it's all there already. The house has a working fireplace as well as wood burning stove, both great for ambiance on those cool summer nights. The house has central air conditioning and heat as well.
The main deck is fenced off, as well as the outer perimeter of the backyard, so keeping the kids and pets safe is an easy job. Within the backyard is the pool area, which has it's own fenced in area, a really great extra safety feature.
A bonus for us guys is the 70" TV in the living room and ground level bedroom (with a good cable package, included), impressive to say the least. And did I mention the one car garage? Another excellent feature I personally used for many things, including the sports car!
The house, grounds and pool are all professionally maintained, and the homeowners are always doing the job of up-keeping the property. Just as we were leaving, they were professionally sanding and painting the outside of the house as well as doing some interior painting. If any issues arise, they are very responsive.
The area is great, a really nice quiet street, and quite a few times we saw deer in the area. I would certainly classify the area as up-scale, not an area where you have to worry about trouble. You are very close to the vineyards and even the Tanger Mall in Riverhead for shopping; both make great day trips. You are also close to Greenport which has an excellent downtown area, as well as fairly close (maybe a 25 minute drive) to the Orient Point ferry for Connecticut day trips to the casinos!
The only real downside I can think of is the garbage pick-up (which you have to set up). I think it was twenty per week, but you have to use the Town's particular garbage bags. It was odd for me, but not a real hassle overall.
For us, as a long term rental, it was excellent. I would certainly recommend the house and area to anyone who asked me, and I would definitely rent again.
