This 110 m2 apartment, located on the third story of an elevator building on the prestigious Carrer de Muntaner in L'Esquerra de l'Eixample, has beautiful period details, including original mosaic floors, high plaster ceilings, stain-glass windows and polished wooden archways. A modern fully equipped kitchen, a modern bathroom with shower, bathtub, and toilet, and another half-bath (toilet and sink) offers the perfect combination of elegance and practicality.

There is a large master bedroom with an arched sitting area at the back of the apartment, while two smaller bedrooms, one windowed, one without, line the hallway, so that no bedroom faces the street, providing for a peaceful night's sleep. The large living room has six tall windows opening onto terraces, with couches and a television. An adjoining dining area comfortably seats 6.

Within walking distance to Placa Catalunya, Passeig de Gracia, las Ramblas and the historic districts of El Born, El Raval and El Barrio Gotico the apartment is ideally located. Restaurants, shops, a supermarket, and public parking are all nearby.

About Owner/Property Manager

We are a NYC family. I used to come to Barcelona to shoot TV commercials and loved it, now I just visit for fun with the family. I plan to spend 6 months a year in Europe and use it as a base.

We wanted something that felt like it was part of Barcelona, not just a mod apartment you could find anywhere. There's some beautiful detail, and it's in one of the best areas. It's great for families because we get a nice big master and the kids have their own rooms.

What makes this apartment unique

It is very sunny. The stores and restaurants in the surrounding blocks are first-rate. You can walk to the historic districts but you are not surrounded by tourists, so it feels more like a neighborhood you live in.

A great find - spacious, comfortable, centrally located with authentic Barcelona charm

This clean, spacious apartment is filled with contemporary furnishings that blend well with the lovingly preserved original beautiful modernista period details of the apartment, especially the gorgeous tile floors.The apartment is centrally located in a bustling urban neighborhood full of charm. We originally wanted to stay in Gracia, but found this neighborhood far more appealing. There are lots of good restaurants within a few blocks, but if you like to cook, there are delightful options close by, from a good fish market down the block to the Mercat del Ninot about 3 blocks away (think Boqueria without the high prices!). You can walk to everything; Gaudi’s Casa Batlo is at the subway stop about 5 easy blocks; Sagrada Familia was a comfortable stroll beyond there. Placa Catalunya, where you can pick up several tourist busses or walk down the Ramblas is also an easy 20-minute walk. The beautiful city beaches are about 2 miles from the apartment – and walking either via the Barri Gotic and/or the Rambla makes for an interesting stroll (and May was perfectly lovely beach weather here!). The apartment (which is really on the 3rd floor) has two small balconies where you can pull up a chair and sip a glass of wine while watching all the activity on the street below.
Several busses stop on the block; several subway stops are a few minutes’ walk in several directions. The owner was easy to work with, and a bonus for American renters is that he is in NYC with a local phone number. Graciela, the apartment manager, speaks excellent English and was really helpful. If you are a chain-hotel kind of person this would not be your kind of place, but if you delight in art, authentic charm, good food and immersion in a vibrant urban neighborhood, this place can’t be beat!

A glorious Barcelona experience

What a fabulous experience! We were in the prettiest part of town, smack bang in the middle of where it is all happening. The apartment is really lovely, and David (the owner) and Graciela (the property manager) are really helpful and straightforward to deal with. I felt that both of them, in different ways, went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was happy. It is so nice to arrive and find a bottle of wine waiting, and various other little touches. If we were to stay in Barcelona again (and given the beauty of the city, I hope that we will be back one day) I would stay here again like a shot.

Fabulous!

My family of three stayed here for a week in April, and it couldn't have been more terrific. The apartment is clean and well-maintained, bathrooms great, kitchen great - all modern appliances (stove, microwave, washer/dryer, dishwasher) in perfect working order. It's laid out great for some separation, with the master bedroom at one end of the apartment, and since we were traveling with our teenage daughter, that was a real plus! Furniture is great, beds are comfortable, and the front of the apartment has great light. The location is perfect -- close to great restaurants, walk to Raval, Bari Gothic --and the building is lovely. There is an amazing market (mercado) 2 blocks away, and we picked up food for breakfast and picnics there. The manager for the apartment, Graciela, couldn't be nicer, and was incredibly helpful and responsive. This place is a find.

A superb apartment in a wonderful city

Barcelona in spring is a wonderful place, especially when the sun shines and the sky is clear and blue. A delightful guided tour as Graciela picked us up from the airport preceded five delightful days in this lovely apartment. Just far enough out to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city centre but within easy walking distance of las Ramblas and the sea front and amazingly close to Gaudi's key major sites. We absolutely loved the flat and would concur with the other reviewers - the apartment met all of our needs and expectations - we will be back as soon as we can. Its that good!!

The Girls Loved It!

I stayed here for a girl's week, with five of us in total. The apartment is really beautiful. It's full of historic details, the ceilings are incredibly high, and it was great to come home to after being out.

The area around the apartment has some great places. There's a cool cocktail lounge down the block that we ended our nights in, and there are great food stores and restaurants all around. It's obviously an upscale neighborhood. We walked into the historic districts and over to the Sagrada Familia cathedral, which were all close.

The bedrooms were great for sleeping late, and the apartment is pretty spread out, so we were not on top of each other all the time. It is very clean and well maintained and Graciela the manager is an absolute doll. She gave us some great ideas for things to do. The kitchen worked out really well. We took a cooking class and then made some of the dishes on our last night. Cable TV had some English language stations. Internet was good, and the main bathroom was recently re-done. I would definitely stay here again for a reunion in a heartbeat. It's a great deal.
