Remodeled Craftsman house, old world charm with elegant modern interior in a quiet neighborhood. Private yard. Walking distance to Downtown Olympia. Close drive to Evergreen State College. Co-op/health food store one block away.
Home features hardwood floors, tile bathrooms, gourmet kitchen, new cozy queen beds, large dining area, and a comfortable spacious living room. If you are booking after February our upstairs kids room will be done with bean bags, games, two twin beds and plenty of room for playing.
We love the quiet, well established neighborhood filled with old beautiful homes. We also love the Olympia Coffee Roasters just a couple blocks away, and we enjoy the West side co-op just down the street for getting great healthy food(2blocks away).
The home is at the head of the Garfield nature trail. It is a nature trail that meanders throughout a five-acre ravine from West Bay Drive to North Rogers Street. It is a nice way to head downtown!
From the little yellow house, it is awesome to walk in to the city center and have dinner or breakfast, then after to stroll around Capitol Lake. You can visit the art galleries, the shops, and walk along the bay.
If you need to shop or want to see a movie, we are less than a mile from the Westfield Mall. This is a great home in a great location.
We are happy to help you enjoy your stay in Olympia and are available via phone/email for questions, or help, but we are not on premises.
You have the entire home, with private yard, and parking.
Bus lines are nearby and there is free parking in the back of the home, convenient and off street.
We are a growing family, that loves to travel...We like to have the experience, when traveling, that has a more comfortable, and more local feel than a hotel. That has lead us to many VRBO properties, and even more memories made.
Ahtumn Delacroix purchased this house in 2013
We found this home and bought it to resell, but while remodeling, we fell in love with the home, and its character, not to mention the location! We then decided to keep it as an investment, and a vacation spot for when in the sweet Olympia area.
My family and I stayed here in May for five nights. There were 8 of us including a baby and this cozy but spacious house fitted our needs perfectly! The owner had the pack n play available for us to use there and had the extra twin bed all set up and ready. One of us even decided to use the couch as their bed of choice because it was so comfortable! It was wonderful to walk in and feel at ease. The kitchen was fully functional and we put it to good use. There is a spiral stair case to get up stairs which is narrower than most. But it's a great kid's room filled with games, toys and hideout areas. The front and back yards are beautiful and enclose the lawns nicely so that it feels very private even when sitting outside. We found an amazing trail just a few houses down that felt like a mini rainforest and led us to the beach just a couple blocks away. The house is very close to many restaurants, Target, Trader Joes, a big mall and one of the main freeways. We would definitely stay here again if we needed.
There were four of us and we spent two nights in this beautiful home. It is an older home in a residential neighborhood but the inside has been updated. Everything you see in the pictures is how it looks, very clean and comfortable. It is centrally located for shopping, which we did, restaurants, etc. The only thing if I were renting this place out would be to disclose the spiral staircase up to the "childrens room" where the two twin beds are. They are very steep and narrow and "us ladies" are not as steady as we used to be! We really enjoyed our stay though!
Our September week in Olympia was just wonderful....We loved staying at your wonderful yellow house with the red door. The house sits high above the street level and is centrally located to the center of town. Peaceful setting with lovely garden for dining outdoors. The kitchen is a cooks delight and we entertained our family nearly every day. We were welcomed with fresh flowers and fresh ground coffee and cream! We actually looked forward to coming back to your delightful house every day after miles of hiking and touring the area. So much better than any hotel experience. We highly recommend your vacation house to anyone thinking about a stay in Olympia as they are sure to be pleased!

This house was spectacular!! We loved it!!
Loved the location only thing missing was a grill outdoors.
We really loved staying here. The home was situated in a convenient location on a quiet street, in a great neighborhood that was close enough for a quick stroll downtown. We found the house peaceful, cozy, and tastefully decorated. I often stay in vacation homes, and this home was really top notch. We were provided everything we could have needed, and the atmosphere was clean and elegant. My husband and I were both very happy with our stay, and will definitely be booking here the next time we are in town!
Down town, (just a ten minute walk down the hill), has much to offer! Some of which are, the farmers market ( biggest in the state), art galleries, restaurants on the water, the marina, the Capitol (set above the beautiful capitol lake which is a great spot for a walk), coffee houses, live theaters and many shops. Percival Landing has 1.5 miles of boardwalk with artwork and interpretive displays outline the history of the harbor. The Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge offers miles of level trails for those interested in Puget Sound Wildlife, especially birds. To help capture your findings, they are complete with viewing platforms and photo blinds. Also, the Hands-On Children's Museum, a state-of-the-arts educational playground for kids of all ages. It's right next door to the Wet Science Museum. It showcases the water cycle and how we humans participate in both polluting and cleaning our water. There is still so much more in Olympia!
