We're residents of Oahu who visit Kauai as often as we can...and Steve & Monica's Seaview Suite and the Ti Room are our first choice, if available. The rooms are spacious, fully appointed, always immaculately clean, the owner's give you complete privacy, and the location is spectacular. Cheaper and so much better than a hotel and so laid back!! We look forward to many future stays!
My husband and I stayed at the Boathouse for our 1 year anniversary/honeymoon. It was our first trip to Hawaii and we couldn't have been happier with where we chose to stay on Kauai. Monica and Steve were such gracious hosts, and the location is fantastic. You can’t beat the short walk to the beach to watch the sunset. Being that it was our first time on Kauai, we didn’t know if we’d chosen the right part of the island to stay. I can definitely say now that we did. We were so close to Waimea Canyon and the sites of the south shore, but the north shore sites were also just a scenic drive away. It was fun to get to see the whole island too! If you’re considering booking the Boathouse, you definitely should. We miss it every day! Thank you Monica and Steve for such an amazing stay on Kauai!
Hi Monic and Steve,
Thank you for your hospitality on our stay with you From 9/29/13 - 10/26/13. Or stay at the Seaview was awesome. Our accommodations was wonderful- fully stocked kitchen down to toilet paper. It was very clean and taken care of.The unit was very light and airy and well roomy. I even got use to the little green geicos that paid us a visit. We truly enjoyed our 19 days there. Then we move to the Boathouse for the rest of our stay.It was awesome-- just walk to the beach and the sun sets was always a sight to see.We made a lot of pictures of the sunsets. We would highly recommend these two places. If you just want to chill out and enjoy the Island at your leisure this is the place to stay. Thank you again for a wonderful stay.
The Boathouse is just as advertised. Only Better! We worried about being away from the North Shore's famous beaches but found we like the south shore just as good. And with a rental car, you can get anywhere on Kauaii in good time. The lodging is clean, like new condition. The beach is a block away. Monica and Steve are wonderful and thoughtful. We used their beachchairs, mats, grill and coolers. Can't wait to go back!
The Boathouse must be the best bargain on the Island. The tenant gets one private floor that includes all kitchen facilities, comfortable bed, TV, VCR, bathroom, laundry facilities, and more. One can view and hear the ocean from the unit, and walk a very short distance to sit on the shore and observe sunsets and listen to the wave action. The greatest bonus is the free use of surf boards, snorkle gear, beach chairs and towels, fishing rods, and ice chests. All of this at about the same cost of a modest motel room with bed and TV as we travel across the mainland U.S.
We stayed in the Ti Room suite for 5 nights and I wish we could have stayed longer. The room was well lit and airy and felt very spacious for a studio because of the way that it was laid out. The view from the private lanai was gorgeous and the suite had everything that we needed including an outdoor gas grill, tons of beach gear and a fully stocked kitchen. The little snack basket of Hawaiian treats was a welcome sight and we sure did appreciate the cable TV and the free wifi! The suite is conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood that is close to beaches and the main highway. Remember to stop by the Koloa Fish Market in Old Koloa Town for some great plate lunches and sweet potatoe pie. Thanks Monica and Steve for making our vacation so fun!
