This one bedroom, 4 bed, lovely 1870s listed 'Belle Epoque' building in a designated preservation area (Le Carre D'Or) forms part of a recent refurbishment of a neoclassical building (inc Lift) on the Rue de France. The accommodation offers one bedroom sleeping two with a further two beds available from the quality sofa bed available in the lounge. Also included is a fully fitted kitchen, marble bathroom (with Power Shower), Air Conditioning, Washer and Wi-Fi.

Old Nice is only 8 minutes walk away with its vibrant markets, exquisite restaurants, and cafe culture. The apartment is also only a 15 minute walk from the central train station making the attractions of Cannes, St Tropez, Eze, Menton, Antibes, and the glamorous Monte Carlo readily accessible.

Our Contact Rosa offers Nicoise cooking courses in her own home, using organic produce bought from the Cours Salya old town market which you purchase in the Morning with her. She will advise on the produce, whats in season and whats not. This market and wine cellar tour, along with nicoise cooking is fantastic and we can arrange this for you. We had a great time, especially sampling our efforts afterwards with several glasses or two, of Rose Bandol and Provencal Wines.

Fantastic location and apartment just as described. Excellent directions from the airport and so easy to find. No car needed as public transport by bus or train is very reasonable. Great winter sun location and the Christmas market was excellent.

Excellent apartment, clean and tidy, and excellent location. We went as a group of 4 and the accommodation was large enough for us. We all loved it and are already in the process of arranging a return journey. Highly recommended!

Yes we work hard to keep it nice for all our guests. Our guests are very important to us, as your annual leave/vacation time is important. We get many guests with either families or couples, elderly or even wheel chair bound.
Our kichen has all the modern applicances and including washer/washing machine for your clothes, if you are staying longer than a week or more. This is at no extra cost to you.

We work very hard and our leisure time is very important to us as a family.

This apartment is perfect for the four of us. It can also accommodate five if you ask Richard. It was clean, quiet, and the location was great, just a stone’s throw away from the beach front! We have now been coming here for over four years and love it. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else really.

The price is good and not expensive as compared to other places that we have stayed in before. The kids love the beach and the friendly restaurants and shops close by. We have also stayed here as a couple for a romantic getaway and for a bit of peace and quiet. There is something for everyone!

The Wi-Fi in the apartment is fast and we use this to make our friends and family jealous back home via Skype. It’s better than using the expensive internet cafes, also its more private and relaxing, as you can get a great coffee downstairs and a croissant to take back up to the apartment with you, whilst you use the internet to explore your next day’s adventures!

Richard is very helpful and takes pride in all his hard work to make the guest feel at home. That’s rare these days. We don’t feel like cash cows, like some owners make you feel. We have booked for 2015 August. We can’t wait to come back.

The only downside is that we have to go home. Boo!

A little gem!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this great apartment , which is ideally located just 2 minutes from the beach. We loved the local amenities in particular the bakery across the road and the Mexican food and wine bar just along the road. The mojitos were delicious! Exploring Nice is easy either by foot or using the trams and trains. We visited a lovely sandy beach on the other side of Castle Hill which was a 10 minute train ride away. Our daughters both enjoyed swimming and splashing in the beautiful green/blue sea.
The apartment was very clean, with flowers on arrival. The children slept on the sofa beds in the lounge area, and there was plenty of space to hide our suitcases and personal belongings in the large wardrobes in the bedroom.
Richard and Kim were very helpful and answered our questions. Richard was particularly helpful and prompt with his e-mails which we appreciated. Looking to book again next year as we loved our first Nice experience.

Simply Bliss

This is the second time me and the other half have stayed here, and cant fault this apartment, exactly what is needed for a weekend away in the attractive area of Nice. Everything was as stated and apartment is clearly well looked after. If you are after a clean, tidy, comfortable space to stay to go alongside a venue that speaks for itself, than I have no problem recommending this location/stay, and have recommended to close friends!

Very pleasant experience

Really great place to spend your time in Nice, location was excellent just one block walk and you're on the famous beachfront, lots of nice restaurants in the area and a great supermarket just around the corner to stock the cupboards.
The apartment itself was very pleasant, good wifi, very clean, functional kitchen, comfortable bed, reasonable space for two people. Overall this apartment is great value and I would highly recommend. The only thing keeping this from five stars were minor- we were expecting a little more luxury from our impressions of the photos shown but still was very good, just obviously the photographer was good at his job! There was also an issue with plumbing in the bathroom which resulted in a bad smell but it was manageable and hardly the owners fault. In saying that I must point out the owner was very prompt in our communications and always charming- after months of travel we misread our check out date and he quiet kindly allowed us to stay an extra night so we didn't have to find a hotel the day before our flight so that was very much appreciated

The weather last week was exceptionally bad, all parts of the Alps-Martime and Var areas received more rain in November than the last 6 months put together. The French Authorities issued a red and amber warning. The French drainage system usually copes very well, but in times of exceptional rain etc., it can struggle and on occasion it can cause a slight odour. This is normal. Our agent has investigated and all is ok now. The slight odour was only restricted to the bathroom and not the rest of the apartment. I was there the previous month and all was ok.

We love Nice and this tasteful and well located apartment. It was our second stay there and we hope not our last. The apartment is well equiped and offers enough place for up to 4 persons. Everything is clean and our host and his field help are very friendly. They provided us with all the information we needed for a comfortable stay in Nice.
The apartment is close to the beach, supermarkets, restaurants, shops and busstations for making cheap and wonderful trips to several famous places along the French Riviera, e.g. Cannes, Monaco, Eze, Antibes.... Busfares only cost 1,50 Euros!
Also Nice with its pituresque Old Town, the Promenade du Paillon and lots of museums (entrance almost free) is a lovely town. You need several trips to explore everything. So we come back!!! Dear Richard, we highly recommend your apartment and thank you for your hospitality.

We agree that there is a life time of things to see and do here on the French Riviera. We are blessed with being so close to the beach and all things cultural.

The newly restored, multi-million, “Musee de Massena”, has been reopened near us, and this offers a lovely cultural experience, fashions of the ages, including military wear, and even has an original replica of the Promenade des Anglais, along with its past pier. There are also lovely gardens to relax in as well there. It’s only 2 minute walk from, “Appartement Bord de la Mer”!

Just image yourself sipping a cold glass of Rose wine or drinking a fresh ground French Cafe, relaxing and watching the world go by? In this perfect cosmopolitan near beach front location. This much sort after fantastic central location, near a local french bakery on Nice's famous first old road, the Rue de France, situated in the 'Golden Quarter' (Carre D'or) in Nice. Literally a leisurely 1 minute walk to the sea front & beach. Situated on a quiet side street, but close to all the best restaurants, cafe culture, street entertainers, designer shopping boutiques (like Chanel, Armani, Karen Millen, and many more), famous museums (Matisse etc) and transport links. Le Carré d'Or, or 'Gold district' is the elegant section of the pedestrian zone of central Nice, which begins at the Promenade des Anglais and extends to the tree-lined Boulevard Victor Hugo. Look for street names like Paradis, Alfonse Karr or Longchamp in order to identify this chic quarter of Nice.The 'Gold District' is the Mayfair or Park Avenue of Nice,on the gorgeous French Riviera Coast.

Other Activities: Shopping, Festivals, Art Galleries, Architecture, Canoeing, Wildlife (inc outside Wolf Sanctuary watching), Photography, Restaurants and night-life.

Golf: See Owners Website for excellent Golf Courses nearby on the French Riviera!

Ski: Winter skiing & Snow boarding is easy; Isola 2000 is a large modern resort, very popular, with good lifts and well maintained runs for all abilities. It is 2,000 metres high and usually has good snow from before Xmas to March. It's about 1hr 30 minutes drive from Nice, or there is a ski-bus service from central Nice (10 minute walk from our apartment). Auron, Valberg, Greolieres, and a number of smaller resorts are lower altitude and hence have snow for a shorter time, they are about the same driving time from Nice. Limone in Italy is prettier and about the same size, it is about a 2 hour drive.
