We stayed in the Petit Manoir, a charming oasis of calm, surrounded by beautiful gardens, a terrace and mini garden behind the kitchen, The cottage is tastefully decorated, with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable living room, multi-channel TV and a nice view of fields from the bedroom. The hosts were beyond helpful and we would have missed a visit to the outstanding Chateau of William the Conqueror in Falaise, 20 minutes away, if they had not recommended it. If you've been to Bayeux, the castle in Falaise is not to be missed.
We are especially grateful to Nicolas who helped us sort out an unpleasant rental car encounter with a bolllard. He helped us diagnose the leak in the coolant system, contacted the rental company late in the day, and arranged for us to be picked up the following day to go to Caen. Encore, merci Nicolas.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week stay and highly recommend it as a perfect base to visit the many parts of the region, from market days in St. Pierre, to Caen, Falaise and the Embarquement coast sites.
Our stay of a week was in the Petit Manoir plus extra back rooms. Four of us were very comfortable. Very much country, with food shopping 15-20 minutes away. Caen sites about 30 minutes away. Easy access from highway, and noise was not an issue. Clean, modern, and cozy. Loved it. Our compromises were no shower in back building rooms, and WiFi very weak. What a sight: 3 of us standing by the window with our devices trying to get a strong connection. Hosts on site were very accomodating for all of our needs. Shared laundry on site. Underscore SHARED. Would love to return and visit again.
Our stay at this property was so stunning and memorable...right from our arrival we felt so so welcome...we arrived to fresh roses, locally freshly baked baguets and apple juice and for my daughters birthday that day...a traditional homebaked apple tartin birthday cake..thankyou so so much laurence and family for making our return to normandy ( my families ancestral heritage) from australia so special...we stayed in la petit maison...which was 5 star in standard...we toured the local countryside and falaise, went to historical caen where my mothers family huets are from, visited the castle of william the conquerer...so much amazing history in this area, went on a beautiful drive following the coast from houlgate up to honfleur..honfleur is a must see...a beautiful fishing village...had a seafood meal by the port...drove the cider and cheese route to cambrerer.- tasted apple cider at pierre huets centre..the weather in september was great...still warm...every attention to detail was thought of...thankyou again...a truly memorable stay... suitable for a couple or a larger group.
The owners have done a fabulous job renovating and decorating Le Logis Manoir. They were extremely good hosts and were very helpful during our stay. The location is perfect for seeing all of the Normandy sights and the city of Caen. I hope to stay again in the near future.
The pictures do not begin to describe this charming property!! It was perfect from beginning to end. My only regret is that we did not stay longer! We stayed in the Le Petit Manoir for three nights. The rooms were absolutely spacious, the bathroom huge. Laurence was the kindest of hostesses, providing everything that travelers might need. While my daughter and I were on the go most of the stay, leaving early and coming home late, the property begs to have you sit back and relax on the patio and take in it's beauty. I totally would recommend this property to everyone! Many thanks, Laurence! Hopefully in the future I will be able to return and visit with you again.
We stayed at Le Petit Manoir for 4 nights as a family of 2 adults and 3 children. We had a wonderful welcome from Laurence and her family and they were so helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Their property is beautiful and is maintained with love and attention to detail, authentic and yet very comfortable with all amenities available. I would have no hesitation in returning or in recommending this property to anyone. Many thanks Laurence and your family- we hope we will come back so time!
