CENTRAL CHARMING GRANADA ALBAICIN APARTMENT WITH WIFI AND VIEWS OF ALHAMBRA

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday apartment in Granada - Granada Holiday Apartment

2 bedrooms, living/dining room, 1 bathroom, sleeps 4

Bright, charming and comfortable two-bedroom holiday apartment with wifi, centrally located for sightseeing and exploring the delights of Granada. Situated in a quiet street in the old Moorish quarter of the Albaicin, a fascinating labyrinth of narrow streets and whitewashed houses with secluded inner gardens, known as 'cármenes' which sits high above the city, providing the apartment's large communal roof terrace with stunning views across to Sierra Nevada mountains, Sacromonte hills and Alhambra palace. The apartment has great local bars, cafes and restaurants on its doorstep and is close to both Plaza San Nicolas (at the highest point of the Albaicin, famous for its views of the Alhambra) and Plaza San Miguel - both less than 5 minutes' walk away. The perfect location for a long weekend or sightseeing holiday, the apartment is a 10-minute walk from central square, Plaza Nueva. Perfectly located for local bars & restaurants, shops, markets, local attractions. Enjoy great local food and wine, try a Moorish bath and massage, or listen to flamenco music in the Sacromonte caves. Information pack and meet'n'greet service from local representative. Authentic Spanish cookery classes available.

A great city sightseeing location: Granada is a great long weekend location and is perfect for those who love food, wine, sightseeing, trying out their Spanish language skills and just generally exploring a small, charming city. The Albaicin is an ideal location for those who appreciate Moorish architecture, and who want to have peace and quiet but still be in the city. Local bars and restaurants offer excellent free tapas and excellent local dishes, while there is a regular market where you can buy locally sourced fruit and vegetables and provisions. You are minutes away from the local bus service which will take you into the centre or directly to the Alhambra Palace for your visit there. We provide a meet and great service from a Granada local, plus a comprehensive information pack on the best places to eat, shop, sightsee and relax. Winter visits - take a bus to the Sierra Nevada:you will be in the ski resort in only 45 minutes and can enjoy a wide range of snow activities even if you don't want to ski. Ask us for more details.

The Alhambra and other attractions: No trip to Granada is complete without at least one visit to the Alhambra, whether you visit during the day or by night. Booking tickets is easy and quick in a variety of ways which we can help you with. Don't forget that Granada is full of interesting architecture and churches, quirky little venues and lesser-known attractions which sometimes get overlooked. For those interested in architecture, painting or photography we can point you in the right direction and give you up-to-date information on things to see.

Activities : Apart from sightseeing, Granada is a food and drink lovers' paradise. There is an abundance of bars offering all kinds of (free) tapas and local dishes, from student haunts and old charming bodegas, to sophisticated modern restaurants. Shopping is good for local crafts including leather goods, etchings and ceramics and all things Moroccan in the Caldederia area off Plaza Nueva. Granada is also good for the Spanish clothing chains Zara, Mango and Cortefiel and great for shoes, bags and accessories. For pampering, a must to try is the Moorish baths (hammam) for a relaxing soak and a massage. Children will enjoy the Science Park and the Granada Eye, which is the local 'camera obscura' of Granada, providing panoramic views over the city. For longer extended stays, and for those with a car, a great selection of day trips are possible from outwith the city.

wonderful apartment on wonderful Albaicin

Stop searching! You will not find a better place to stay for visiting Granada!
We (family with two children aged 10 and 15) really loved the apartment and the Albaicin hill, too. There is everything you need and even more ... It's always a difference if you are in a apartment just for visitors or one the owner himself lives, but it's perfect when you have the same taste! 100% recommended!

Wonderful stay

  • 5 out of 5
From initial contact with Donald and Lesley through final thoughts after returning from our trip, I was consistently impressed with the owners and the property. The description and photos were accurate, Manoli who helped orient us on arriving was super helpful, the property was clean and well-stocked, and the entire process was hitch-free. I would definitely recommend this to any couple or group up to four persons. The tapas bars and activities recommended to us were quite good and close by. I would have no reservations in booking this property again if I am ever in Granada. Thanks, Donald and Lesley!

Perfect location stunning views & a beautiful city

Perfect location stunning views & a beautiful city
  • 5 out of 5
We were lucky to secure this wonderful apartment for our week long visit to Granada in August 2013.

If what you crave is the chance to truly live like a local, whilst befitting from the most wonderful views of the jewel in the cities crown which is the Alhambra, then this is the perfect place for you.

We could sense the history of the Albacyn as we wound our way up, and up and up to the very summit of the hill and then slowly wove our way around the tiny atmospheric streets to close above the apartment. The building itself was in a quiet, narrow street, with a tiny internal courtyard lit at night to provide an unique atmosphere.

The area was quiet, however within only 10 minutes we were able to walk down into the centre of the city and it's array of bars and restaurants. However, we really loved walking up, further into the Albacyn, to enjoy some of the great neighbourhood bars and restaurants, where we enjoyed delicious tapas. An array of local shops - bakers; fish shop and a market added to our enjoyment.

The apartment was furnished perfectly to suit the historic building - with every modern convenience of home included. The area was so quiet that we slept every night with all windows open with only the occasional bird or church bell breaking the silence.

What we loved most was the buildings roof terrace which has uninterrupted views across the valley to the Alhambra. Many hours were spent here; mornings as the sun rose for breakfast; late afternoon for sunbathing and beers and late into the evening as the sun set with some Vino Tinto as the colours changed on the Alhambra.

Don't delay booking this property - and enjoy both it and the lovely Andalucian city of Granada.

Wonderful Refuge in Granada

  • 5 out of 5
We are just back from a week in Granada. The apartment is located in the warren of narrow walkways of the ancient part of the city called the Albayzin. The hill of the Albayzin stands opposite the hill of the Alhambra, with the river Darro running in between. It is steep, hilly and the streets are paved with little cobble stones so good walking shoes are a must. The apartment is perfectly situated to the centre of Granada which is a 10 minute walk downhill and a bus ride home. The apartment is spotless and well equipped; we found it was the perfect refuge after sightseeing and the heat of the city. Donald and Lesley provided a detailed and invaluable list of instructions and tips which we were thankful for and the restaurant recommendations were wonderful. The whole experience from initial query about the apartment was painless and I would highly recommend this wonderful apartment. We had a holiday to remember in Granada.

Perfect location

  • 4 out of 5
This cosy apartment is the perfect spot for exploring the amazing city of Granada. The accommodation is set right in the heart of the Albaicin moorish quarter and has so much to explore as you step out of the door. Despite this the place was really peaceful as it is down one of the myriad little alleyways that make the place so picturesque and traffic free.
Leslie and Donald have provided everything needed to make for a comfortable stay, including such essentials as a hairdryer and a coffee machine. They also provide incredibly detailed information to help find the best places to visit, which was a great help when our time was fairly limited. All the recommendations were indeed excellent too.
We took great pleasure in drinking sundowners on the roof terrace, whilst enjoying some of the most amazing views I have ever experienced with the Sierra Nevada and the Alhambra in one direction and the picturesque rooftops jostling for position all around us. A week was just not long enough to see all the sights of Granada and I have no doubt that I shall return sometime in the near future.
