Walking around Gaucin: The agent (Patrick Elvin) is an expert on walking in the area and has walking routes on hand or can be hired as a guide.

Fantastic accommodation

We stayed in this 3 bedroom apartment for 3 nights and everything was just as stated in HomeAway .
The property is just on the edge of the village and therefore quiet and only a 5 minute walk to the centre of the village. The apartment was very well presented and spotlessly clean and well maintained. The furnishings and linens were of a good quality. Josefi gave us a very friendly greeting and explained everything. Then she left us to enjoy our holiday. The swimming pool was a bonus as it was really hot and after a day walking in the countryside we enjoyed relaxing in the lovely garden and a swim in the pool.
We would have liked to have had more detailed walking guides available, either in the apartment, or to buy.
There were lots of restaurants and bars in the village and we were greeted in a very friendly manner everywhere we went.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone.
We will certainly return to Gaucin.

Lovely property and owners

We spent 10 days at this property. I have stayed in Gaucin many times and can honestly stay that this is probably the best house that we have rented to date. the property is spotlessly clean and the beds comfortable. Unlike some houses in the village there is parking outside the door. It's just a short walk to the nearest supermarket and about five minutes into the centre of the village. The owners were a delight and even though they live above the property we were never aware of them but they were available if we needed them. Thanks also to Patrick for his organisational skills when we made our booking. We will be back again very soon.

Wonderful

We spent 3 fantastic nights in this 3bedroom apartment.
Everything was perfect and the apartment was really well presented and spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable and the bed linen was of good quality. Josefi greeted us warmly and then left us to enjoy our short break.
If you are looking for a very good place to stay in Gaucin we can recommend without hesitation this apartment.
Gaucin is a great walking area but you need to research walks before going as the information available is not good. Some more detailed guides in English would be very welcome......even at a cost.

Ideal retreat in the mountains.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at La Aguila. Ideally situated a five minute walk from the village, the house was beautifully presented. Super comfy beds and quality linen was a bonus, and the views from the bedroom were idyllic. Agree with all previous comments especially those regarding privacy. Josefi and Domingo were on hand if needed and were extremely warm and inviting. Village is great - lots of places to eat every evening and to suit every budget. Trip to coast took about 35 mins - not too far, but probably not a journey to do each day. We flew into Seville - drive to house (via Ronda) took about 2.45 hours but scenery was superb. Couls easily be tempted to return again.

Gaucin is situated at the foot of the Serrania de Ronda about 28 kilometres inland from the coast where there are fine beaches. 600 metres above sea level, Gaucin enjoys fine views to the north and south and Ronda is only 35 kilometres away along a recently upgraded road. Seville is about 2.5 hours drive and Granada about the same. Gibraltar is one hours drive.
