About Lindsay Phillips

This is our holiday home. For this reason we hope guests will fall in love with Vence too. Our apartement is very comfortable and fully equiped so that you can experience Vence as your home away from home.

Lindsay Phillips purchased this apartment in 2005

Why Lindsay Phillips chose Vence

I chose Vence because I found it to be so charming pretty and unspoilt and the apartment because of the ambiance and lovely open view of mountains and sea, and it is full of luminous light. As Henri Matisse wrote to poet Louis Aragon “When I realized I would see that light every morning, I could not believe my good fortune,” We are only 200 metres into the heart of Vence 'Old City' and only 25 minutes from Nice and 20 minutes to the airport. It is a bonus to be surrounded by the history, art galleries and atmosphere, not to mention the wonderful fresh produce and local markets. Fresh natural spring water since Roman times and there is nothing nicer than walking into the medieval city to choose your fresh hot bagette and croissants each morning and eating them on the balcony! And because you don't need to get the car out, it is much more relaxing and you don't have to worry about driving after dinner!

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment has a welcoming ambiance, the benefit of sun all afternoon and the great location: You are in the centre of historic Vence life, 200 metres from the medieval walled 'city' and can experience Vence as it is - a charming, bustling and authentic little French town with a lovely astmosphere which has managed to remain unspoilt.

Great apartment

  • 5 out of 5
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our week in this comfortable, bright, inviting apartment. Other people have already said everything, so we would just like to reiterate all their good comments. It was a wonderful base for our extensive explorations of the region in our rental car, and we were relieved to be able to find parking upon coming "home," either in the handy little pay lot across the street or in the blue zone spaces. Everything worked well in the apartment, and we had everything we needed. We loved eating our morning croissants and baguettes on the balcony and enjoying the view at cocktail hour or any other time that we were there. Lindsay did a great job with directions and information, and there were no unpleasant surprises awaiting us when we arrived at the clean, lovely apartment. We also enjoyed the town of Vence and would not hesitate to enjoy a stay at this apartment in the future.

LIGHT,BRIGHT & BEAUTIFUL APARTMENT

LIGHT,BRIGHT & BEAUTIFUL APARTMENT
  • 5 out of 5
We have just returned home after spending another 2 weeks' holiday, once again in Lindsay's beautiful apartment in our favourtie town of Vence.
The welcoming & spacious apartment just makes us feel like we're coming home - this has been our third visit. It is wonderfully comfortable, tastefully decorated and everything you could possibly want has been catered for. There are many "nooks & crannies" and heaps of storage space: everything has been thought of including a stack of information and brochures, bus timetables etc. that make it so easy to find your way around and plan wonderful adventures.
Once again 'The Balcony' was where we spent many wonderful hours in the beautiful light, morning, noon & night looking out over the surrounding scenery and eating delicious, simple meals.
We never tire of walking through the Old Village numerous times daily enjoying the markets, art studios, the many patisseries, the variety of interesting shops, studying the menus of the abundant
restaurants and generally soaking up the ambience of the culture and history of this truly enticing part of the world.
One of our favourite walks is down through the woods to St.Paul de Vence and after spending a couple of hours there lapping up the delights, taking the walk back to the apartment. It is a beautiful walk and well worth taking.
We use the bus service to Nice and then further on to other interesting places eg Monaco, Eze, Menton,Cannes and Marseille to name a few. The fares are extremely reasonable and the buses very regular. A great way to get from place to place, if like us you are too scared to drive.
There are too many things to go on about - it would take too long but if you want to visit the South of France and enjoy a wonderfully relaxing holiday in a beautiful part of the world why not take your break in Vence and Lindsay's apartment!

Lovely apartment in picturesque town

  • 5 out of 5
It is with great pleasure that we returned to this compact but clean, well-equipped and elegantly furnished apartment. The weather was exceptionally mild for November and we enjoyed lunches on the balcony as well as admired spectacular sunsets, with views going from the sea at Cap d'Antibes all the way to the mountains.
The south west facing flat is within walking distance from the old town and its picturesque streets. Vence always attracts us as it is an unspoilt, authentic Provencal town, within easy reach of all the Riviera has to offer but is also excellent for local walks.
We love this apartment which has now become our home from home.
Claire and Mike.

A Gem

  • 5 out of 5
We had a wonderful stay in this charming apartment. Very convenient location , with car parking just across the road and a 5 minute walk to the old town.
Lots of information is given by Lindsay about getting there from the airport, places to see and much much more, this was most welcome as it was our first
visit to the Cote D'Azur area.
The balcony has wonderful views, mountains to one side and sea on the other,
and catches the last of the sun in the evenings ~ perfect with a glass of wine!!
This really does deserve the 5* rating ~ it is a gem and a true credit to Lindsay.

Superb apartment in Vence !

  • 5 out of 5
Had a great stay in this beautiful, spotlessly clean, sunny, well equipped apartment that is conveniently located in Vence.

Lindsay gave us very good infos about Vence, the surroundings, travelling routes, something we have not experienced in this quality before.

The balcony has great views of Vence, the mountains and the sea. Very quiet in the night which enables great sleep.

The parking is very convenient and costs next to nothing, 7 euros a week.

We can really recommend this apartment anytime and would return immediately.

A gorgeous home from home in a beautiful place

  • 5 out of 5
We felt privileged to stay in Lindsay's gorgeous apartment where everything necessary for a totally comfortable relaxing stay had been provided. The apartment was beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean - a real home from home.

Lindsay's thoughtful advice on travel directions, places to eat and attractions to visit ensured that we were very relaxed when we arrived in Vence - sitting on the lovely balcony enjoying the gorgeous scenery and a glass of Provence wine completed the task!

Vence is a beautiful town with friendly people and a lovely vibe. Eating out in the old town gave us great pleasure every evening. The surrounding area is also lovely, needing much longer than the week we had to do it justice - although our highlights were visiting St Paul de Vence, lunch and a Mediterranean swim at Juan les Pins, and an evening at the Nice Jazz Festival.

We loved the apartment, and we loved the area. We cant wait to come back to enjoy both again.
