Beautiful May Holiday!
Casa Stella Vista made for the perfect pied à terre to explore south western Sardinia!
A gorgeous place with all the conveniences of home, eclectic interior design, wonderful lighting inside as well as outside, comfortable beds, good linens, tranquil outdoor patio and beautifully planted garden, and best of all amazing views! Although the website does an excellent job describing the place, it really exceeded our expectations upon arrival!
Jochen and Isabelle were very helpful hosts and a wealth of information about the area, beaches, sites and restaurants.
Driving to the house from the Cagliari airport was an easy, 50-60 minute drive. Jochen had provided a good, detailed description of how to get there.
With a toddler it was nice to have a fully equipped kitchen and the ability to do laundry. Lots of outdoor & beach toys provided, books, board games and too many TV channels to watch. Very clean and well thought out & laid out house. As we stayed there in May, the pool was a bit cold (to be expected for the time of year) but refreshing and very clean. It was set in a lovely garden with a covered patio, very nice. And easy to get to from the main house.
The beach was a short walk, downhill, and so was the tiny super market & cappuchino bar, Bar L’Incontro (good assortment of necessities, wine, bread and some fresh fruit and veggies).
Su Giudeu beach was our favourite Chia area beach, easy parking and magnificent boardwalk to the beach past the lagune with lots of flamingos. The shallow areas were safe enough for our toddler to stand up and play in the water. Casa Stella Vista was equipped with a large variety of beach towels, a good beach mat and beach toys, we didn’t miss anything!
We had our greatest meal at the Mirage, just down the road, upon Jochen’s recommendation and we were treated like royalty, quite the experience and the food was superb, and our toddler loved it as well! Da Giorgio, quick drive west wards, was a delightful restaurant as well with authentic Sardinian specialties. All in all, the restaurants we ate at were great and very patient with little customers!
We had a very enjoyable and relaxing two week stay and would recommend it to anyone! Chia is a beautiful place and has many beaches and sights nearby to explore, such as Pula, Nora, Cagliari, Carbonia, Teulada, Calasetta (island of Sant'Antioco), Giara di Gesturi and the Unesco World Heritage site of Su Nuraxi di Barumini. Thanks again Jochen & Isabelle!
Owner's Response: Yes, the temperature of the pool was a little low for may in this year as spring was coming quite late in nearly whole Europe. But I added now 4 more sun panels for heating the water. (There are 10 panels now) Today (end of June) the pool water reaches 30 degrees while the mediterranian has only 22 degrees °C.
