We love our house, the people in Gargnano and the whole surrounding on Lake Garda. Often we live in the house ourselves, or our extended family or some of our friends. We are happy when our guests appreciate Italian life as we do.
We love our house, the people in Gargnano and the whole surrounding on Lake Garda. Often we live in the house ourselves, or our extended family or some of our friends. We are happy when our guests appreciate Italian life as we do.
Why they chose this property
Gargnano has such an intimate size, is dreamy and far away from mass tourism of other cities at Lake Garda. The people are lovely and children particularly warmly welcomed. You learn about the people and their culture because you live among Italians and not in the artificial ghetto of a holiday residence.
The surrounding area is so beautiful that it almost takes your breath away - the lake in front and the mountains behind. You can swim, stroll, hike or watch italian life from the balcony and on the waterfront. A visit to the nearby Hruska Botanical Gardens, which belongs to André Heller and the 'Vittoriale' the former estate of Gabriele d'Annunzio in Gardone Riviera are absolutely worth seing. The Piano Bar at La Torre in Gardone is a romantic, very special place - even to go dancing. But it is also a place for romantic weddings.

Guests comments: 'The house is a dream: specially designed and equipped! Uncluttered, full of little architectural surprises and quirky things (like the dainty little chandelier in the fireplace room). We enjoyed the balcony, where we had lunch and looked at the lake and the people passing below. The town also offers an excellent array of stores and restaurants and cafes: try the hot chocolate at the little 'bar' that is really a cafe that also sells international magazines; check out the hardware store; the bakery sells rolls by the gram, very cheap and sooooo crusty and good! Grocery stores for bigger shopping runs are nearby, as are open-air markets. (We bought a huge chunk of parmesan to take home.) A great place to stay: quiet, beautiful, convenient.'
