Stay and experience a cozy little cabin/cottage....This is an authentic, reconstructed cabin for two...that will charm your socks off...not to mention the grounds of the Enchanted Garden. This is the sight where Jack Johnson trained for the fight of the century in 1910, against the Great White Hope, Jim Jeffries. Also, the site of the infamous WILLOW'S, one of the first gaming houses in Nevada in 1929. Today, it has been lovingly recreated. During spring and summer, as an english garden, the grounds are ideal for family reunions, wedding's and special events...history buff's, fishermen, boxing fan's and gardening affectionado's!
The tiny little cabin/cottage is located three blocks from the famous Truckee river with miles of hiking and biking trails. Fly fishing and rafting are popular activites found nearby. Small pets only please.
Tim and joan have created a warm and inviting environment that is unique to many tastes and interests. From gardening affectionado's, to history buffs. This property is currently available for purchase...asking $399k

This is a historic property with many stories to tell. The Elam's have created a home, garden and grounds that you will find truely enchanting from your cozy little cabin/ cottage that exudes all the charm of times gone by.
Situated close to downtown Reno and only blocks away from the Truckee River, guests will find several parks within bicycling and walking distance. During the spring and summer months, couples will enjoy many activities being held along the river, such as river rafting, fishing, swimming and special events. There are many fine restuarants along the river corridor and in the emerging MidTown District.
We arrived late after a long wet drive over the mountains and having a nice warm cottage with music playing was exactly what we needed! The cottage is very cool, has great character and very comfy for the size. It's location is great and made it very easy for us to get around Reno quickly. Thanks!
We rented this property to vacation in Reno with three of our five fur babies. This was our first time in Reno and this place was perfect! The cottage certainly gave the feeling like we were living in a fairytale. Tim and Joan were superb hosts, ensuring we had everything we needed upon arrival. They generously accomodated our three dogs, especially because one of them (our Huksy) is huge! They were attentive when problems arose, and Tim came out to show us the breakers when the power went out (possibly due to the cold winter nights.. which also brought an ice cold shower the first night). We enjoyed sitting by the firepit welcoming the new year, but mostly we were just revived by the beautiful setting and completely peaceful atmosphere. This cabin has a great location to explore the area, but we never even left the cabin in the four days we were there.. it was that awesome! Just a warning to those light sleepers: this cottage is on a semi busy street, so you can hear traffic noise through the night. Our only regret was that we had just missed the snow showers (we wanted it to fall while we were there), but we still got to enjoy the snow. We also loved playing with the resident pooch, Vinny, who was always eager to play with us. So glad we found the Cottage at the Enchanted Garden. My fiancee and kids loved it, especially our Husky who finally got to experience the snow. We will definitely return.
Tim and Joan were fantastic hosts. They eagerly greeted us upon arrival and ensured we have everything we needed to ensure a comfortable stay. They have done a great job with their property and the little cabin was perfect for my husband and I. Their location is excellent, allowing us to be either at a trailhead OR downtown Reno within a 10 minute drive. Added bonus that we were able to bring along our dog during the winter months. Cant wait to return!
This little cabin is a work in progress and clearly a labor of love. Its like staying in a storybook cottage in an enchanted forest. And with urban amenities just minutes away, it was perfect. Hosts Tim and Joan were incredibly hospitable, engaging and eager to please. And my little dog and Vinny, the resident pooch made fast friends!
My only criticisms are that it sits on a busy road and traffic noise is a tad annoying at night and the interior has so many decorative items on every surface that its hard to find a place to put your own stuff.
This is by far the most adorable little cottage you could ever hope to meet. Nestled in an enchanted garden beware you don't squish a faerie on your walk in. It's true that it is close quarters in the sleeping loft and you should know that, but everything else makes up for it. Lovingly crafted and cared for by it's most genial hosts. The location worked out wonderful for us also as it is not in the bustle of the casino area by close enough to do anything you want.
We love this place! The owners' Joan and Tim are great, warm, and welcoming, providing plenty of information on local history and places to visit. It's located right in Reno (though you would never guess it!), close to downtown/midtown restaurants and 45 minutes to nearby ski resorts, Lake Tahoe, and Pyramid Lake. The gardens outside the cabin are so beautiful and the cabin is such a quaint place filled with the character. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique, cozy experience with easy access to urban entertainment or outdoor recreation!
