PR TOURISM COMPANY **COMPLIANT** Casa Paula is located in 'Ocean Park', a beach neighborhood in the metro area known for being a “walking distance” community. In its surroundings, just steps away, are a number of amenities like restaurants, bars, coffee shops, beach, stores etc. There are so many things to do, that Casa Paula is great for a family trip, pleasure, sports, business or merely relax in a privileged climate and excellent location.

PROPERTY: Casa Paula was renovated and upgraded in October of 2013. The property is a two-story house, divided in two apartments: one in the first floor and the other one in the second floor. Both apartments are completely separated one from the other. The two apartments are available for rent, making this perfect for large groups. The LOFT apartment that is here presented is located in the second level of the property, completely separate and private from the rest of the other apartments with two private parkings (back to back).

The apartment in the first floor is 1400 sq. ft. with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, family that is convertible to a room, interior patio and has its own private parking (Listing 556437 www.vrbo.com).

LOCATION: Casa Paula is located in Mc Leary Street. Which is the main road of Ocean Park. The most visited beach in Puerto Rico is only 50 steps away from the house, is one of the most known beaches in the Caribbean for wind surfers, kite surfers, surfers, and all kinds of water sports. In the same street, “walking distance” are numerous restaurants, as: Kasalta Bakery (one of the most famous bakeries of PR), Mangos (restaurant during the day and in the evenings is a pub, great place for drinks), B de Burro (Mexican food), Bagua (Puertorrican food), Pizza Cone (Pizza) among others. Also in the same road you will find: surf shop, bike shops, gas station and groceries store. The back street is the famous St. Loiza. You will find all kinds of restaurants, Walgreens and all types of shops. (In the attached photos you will see more in detail the location of the house and everything mentioned above.)

In other words, you won’t have a need for a car. You can bike, there are many shops near by where you can rent, (20 steps of the house)… ;) At night, Ocean Park is a neighborhood where you can walk and see a lot of people on their bikes, walking, skating and doing exercise.

By car the house is: 10min. from Old San Juan, 5min.from Isla Verde, 10min. from Piñones, 10min. from the airport Luis Munoz Rivera, 90min. from Rincón, 40min. from Fajardo and 60min. from Ponce.

BEDROOMS: Master Bedroom has a queen bed. In the second bedroom a full size bunk bed and in the living room a full size sofa bed whit A/C. The apartment has hotel quality fresh linens, and plenty of pillows and blankets. Each room has a closet and A/C. Comfortably accommodates 6-8 people.

BATHROOMS: One fully equipped bathrooms and an outside shower for when you come from the beach. Fresh towels as well.

Kitchen: Is completely equipped (new from November 2013). The kitchen has: 36 inches refrigerator, microwave and oven (everything is stainless steel).

BALCONY: The living area is connected with one big door that gives access to the balcony. From the balcony you can see all Mc Leary Street, is great for a BBQ, take some drinks, washing the nice view of Ocean Park or simply seat and relax.

PARKING: 2 parking, back to back.

I am Head Coach of a Triathlon Team in Puerto Rico, as an ex-elite athlete I know the joy that brings walking out from your home and mounting your bike or just putting your tennis shoes and take a run. Ocean Park brings the quality of life that I look for my family and me. Is an urban style, beach community where is almost a fact that everybody wears shorts, flip-flops or have a skate board or a bike on hand. Working as a professor in the University and as a doctoral student I have traveled and met people that have been looking for a good, comfortable, accessible place to have a great vacation in the Caribbean, that is one of the reason that inspired me to have this property.

BEST VACATION EVER!! Beautiful home! Great service!

Hi,

I just had one of the best vacations ever, a lot of it due to this beautiful home, it's location, and how smooth and easy everything was made thanks to the owner. From booking to checkout, very comfortable and convenient. Anyone that is in charge of booking a trip for a big group knows how concerning/worrisome it can be to book something based on pictures and online descriptions and reviews, so I'm glad that this was one of those times where my expectations were definitely exceeded. My friends and I rented the whole house, but I'll review the second floor here. I love this location so much that I am looking into going back soon, and hopefully staying for 2 weeks to a month next time.

The house is located right next to the street where most people walk onto to access the beach. It's very close to the beach, walked over every morning and some evenings to catch the sunset, probably less than 5 minutes strolling. There's a mini mart for you to stock up on drinks and fill the ice chest(there was a roll around ice chest in the apartment), a gas station that also has many convenience store items, a few restaurants...Mango's across the street is very good with inside/outside tables and takes reservations, Cueva del Mar is also walking distance and pretty famous for seafood, also a bakery 2 blocks down was good for a quick breakfast, a walgreens within walking distance, some other good food options, also a surf shop across the street. Rafa was very nice to give us his recommendations. The outside of the house has a a very nice curb appeal and you get a lot of attention when you walk out, but is also constantly patrolled by cops since it is a nice area with a lot of foot traffic. The house has 2 garages, one for each floor. You can fit a few cars. There's a very nice balcony/patio next to the living room, it faces the main road so its fun to just people watch from there, or get some sun, you can also set up a chair in front of the garage and people watch/sunbathe in front the house if you prefer. The kitchen and living room and little study space are in a open space layout, makes the place feel even bigger. There's also a lot of towels available, you're near a beach, so that's always nice to have. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that wants to stay at a really nice place, near the beach, with minimal hassle. We were able to walk to one night club from there, and its not far to take a cab to Condado.

Loved Casa Paula!

My husband, our toddler and I stayed at the second floor of casa paula for a couple of nights. The place is nicely appointed in a great location. Just steps away from the beach (5 mins or less walking) and within close proximity to shops and restaurants - condado and many local places in Santurce. The owner was very attentive and promptly answered our questions. We hope to be back soon and hands down will rent again! Hasta pronto!

Close to Beach

We stayed here with our 2 babies (2 1/2 years and 7 weeks old) for our friends' wedding. We rented the upper apartment. The apartment was clean and modern and had all needed amenities. There were plenty of towels and kitchenware and the owners were able to provide us with sleeping accommodations for our babies. The owners checked in with us upon arrival and were accessible for anything we needed. They also were very prompt in returning our security deposit. They were very helpful. The house is walkable to the beach, and there are plenty of shops around for anything you would need. The apartment feels very safe. The balcony is a nice place to enjoy the warm breezes. Our friends were staying downstairs which made them very accessible. The parking is garaged and off the street. The only slight difficulty we had was the noise at night. The street was busy at night and passing motorcycles and traffic would startle our young children. Without the night noise, the place would have been perfect! If you like to stay up late, the noise won't be a factor, as it would die down after midnight.

Bachelorette Getaway

We booked both apartments. The place is exactly as described. It's soooo cute. Raphael was very nice and periodically check on us to make sure everything was well with the place and gave us suggestions on where to go. It's a quick walk to the beach. We ate at Mango's several times, which is about a minute and a half away walking distance. The food and drinks were AWESOME! The house is very cozy, we felt like we were at home.

PERFECT!!!

We rented the 1st floor (#556437) and the 2nd floor of Casa Paula. The house is in excellent condition, clean, comfortable and very spacious. The house is furnished with much more than we expected for a vacation rental (fully stocked kitchen, washer & dryer, soap/shampoo in bathrooms, beach towels, patio furniture, hangers in closets, the list goes on). We booked Casa Paula for a girls trip and comfortably fit 7 girls on the first floor and 4 on the second floor. The owner, Rafael, was extremely helpful and friendly and available for any questions we had. He responded to our calls/texts immediately. The check-in and check-out procedure was easy and seamless. He checked with us upon our arrival to ensure we had everything we needed. He allowed us to check-in early and check-out late because there were no tenants immediately before or after us. The house is in a perfect location. It is 2-3 short blocks to the beach. There is a mini-market across the street and several groceries and restaurants within a short walking distance. There is really no need for a car unless you plan on traveling outside of San Juan. Taxis are affordable and plentiful and nothing was more than a 10 minute cab ride. The beach, Ocean Park, was beautiful. It was not crowded or too "touristy". There is a café on the beach where we had lunch every day. We felt the location was very safe. A local friend recommended Ocean Park to us as a safe, lively and beautiful area to stay. The location of Casa Paula could not be any better. Rafael promptly returned our security deposit. Would 100% recommend staying here over a hotel or resort. We did not want to leave, and we will definitely return... We honestly can't say one negative thing about the house or our experience!

Perfect place for kids and the beach

I brought my family here in mid January and everything was great! I have 2 little kids who loved every bit of the loft, from the bunk beds to the balcony. It was the perfect location to make quick runs to the beach and walk to authentic Puerto Rican food. While there are plenty of tourist and high end restaurants, there are also tons of great little local spots. The neighborhood is friendly and safe. Walgreens is just a block away. Old San Juan is just 5 min away. Airport is just 5 min away.

I highly recommend staying here. There are no hotels nearby, so you get a real Puerto Rican experience.

To top it all off, Rafael and Alexandra were very helpful and nice to deal with. They were always available for any questions and made check in/out super easy.
