About Emmett Doane

I've been an avid fly fisherman since the age of 13 and Michelle has been a local history buff for the last 8 years. We love travelling the area and finding new adventures to share with those we meet. We found the wonders of Southern Utah one weekend while out looking for our next fly fishing destination and never went home. We currently live in Cedar City.

Emmett Doane purchased this bungalow in 2006

Why Emmett Doane chose Junction

Michelle and I drove past this sad little house that cried out ' I have great potential if you only over look my

Pepto-Bismol pink exterior and my other minor flaws.'

Luckily we listened to the distressed little house and made it into the beauty it is today. With the help of several friends and good old fashioned elbow grease we restored this stunning adobe to its former glory.

What makes this bungalow unique

We fell in love with this small adobe style home built in the 30's, one of only two still standing, and envisioned it as a great get-away without giving a though as to it's close proximity to National Parks and Monuments, and some of the best 'Blue Ribbon Trout Streams' anywhere.

Anglers' Inn is home to over fifteen miles of Blue Ribbon Trout Streams beginning only ten minutes from our door, countless high mountain reservoirs, small mountain streams, and two 2500 acre lower elevation reservoirs, Otter Creek and Piute, all within easy access of our lodge.

If you, or your family, want to try your hand at angling our guides would love to introduce you to the art of fly fishing, as an added benefit we are located a short drive from Bryce, Zion, Arches, and Capitol Reef National Parks, as well as Fishlake and Dixie National Forest's, Grand Staircase Escalante and Cedar Breaks National Monuments, and the magnificent North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

Our bungalow is at the southern edge of the highly acclaimed Piute ATV trail, and the northern boundary of Fremont ATV Trail which ends at Tropic Reservoir, near Bryce Canyon National Park. You can access the Pansaugunt ATV Trail trails by way of the Fremont, and ATV rentals are available in town and throughout the valley.

In the summer months White Water rafting is available on the Sevier River and tubing on the East Fork of the Sevier and what western community would be complete without numerous summertime rodeos. Mountain biking at Brian Head Ski Resort is a very popular summertime activity, and enjoy skiing/snowboarding/tubing during the winter, yes we get our fair share of snow.

In nearby Cedar City enjoy live theater with 'The Utah Shakespeare Festival' the 'Neil Simon Festival' or 'A Christmas Carol on the Air'. Cedar City is know as Festival City USA due to it's sponsoring a festival nearly every month.
