CENTRALLY LOCATED IN THE FOLSOM HISTORIC DISTRICT BY THE AMERICAN RIVER

Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday apartment in Folsom - Folsom Guest House

The Contemporary 1Br/1Ba Flat With Living Room And Full Kitchen; Sleeps 4.

The flat is located upstairs with parking located below. Central heat and air throughout. The property is non-smoking. Bikes can be secured at the bottom of the stairway. Mature trees surround the guest house, providing privacy, shade and peaceful views and surroundings.

The cheery sun-filled kitchen includes modern electric range, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, Kuerig coffee machine, toaster, basic utensils and serving ware. Coffee and a variety of teas provided. Nook table with seating for four. All new furnishings throughout the flat, including a queen size bed in the bedroom, and queen sleeper sofa in the living room. The washer/dryer is new as of January 2013.

With rowing, kayaking, boating, swimming and fishing so close, the immediate area offers plenty for water sport enthusiasts. The CSUS Aquatic Center offers summer programs, and hosts nationally ranked teams for rowing competitions. The salmon hatchery is a fun place to watch salmon 'climb the ladder' and is very educational. Kayak rentals on Lake Natoma at Negro Bar State Park offer hourly rentals to go up stream through the canyon towards Folsom State Prison, or down stream along beautiful river park to see wildlife. Folsom Lake offers sailing and boating, with boat ramps, camp grounds and picnic areas.

Are you coming for AMGEN? We are located three blocks from the starting place of the time trials scheduled for Monday, May 12th. The guest house is just steps away to over 30 miles of bike and walking trails stretching along the American River from Folsom to Sacramento and looping around Lake Natoma. You can rent bikes or kayaks within walking distance and explore the quiet waters or hike the oak-lined trails around the lake. Watch for the bald eagles and other wild life along its shoreline. Riding is very popular in Folsom and riders of all abilities and levels have plenty to enjoy. The river trail system starts at Folsom Lake and continues to Sacramento along gentle and scenic riverside trails. More challenging trails include the foothills and wine country, as well as the nearby Sierra Nevada mountains for more extreme riders and jumpers.

To explore outside of Folsom, light rail trains make frequent departures from Historic Folsom Station, just four blocks away. Sacramento is 22 miles and a relaxing 45 minutes away by train. Or spend a day exploring our local wine region just 45 minutes away in the spectacular unspoiled countryside of the Shenandoah Valley of Amador County.

Ask about special rates for Federal employees and those working on Folsom Lake Dam improvements! We support government employees. Also, let us know if you are celebrating a special occasion.

The property was newly built in 2011 so the owners could enjoy river and trail access and the many activities in the Folsom Historic District. We enjoy riding the trails around both Folsom Lake and Lake Natoma, as well as spending time kayaking nearby. With the Folsom Pro-Rodeo in July, the rock festival 'Folsom Live' in September and events throughout year, this central location is fun. Although we are in town, we enjoy easy proximity to the river and many restaurants.

We are in the historic area, walking distance from everything, including the light rail train station that connects Folsom to the larger Sacramento metro area. We enjoy living by the river, in a quiet area of Folsom; close to both great outdoor recreation and an entertainment district for convenient restaurants and pubs.

WONDERFUL

  • 5 out of 5
I stayed in this lovely apartment for two nights with my teenage son while we were visiting Folsom for a nearby rowing meet at Lake Natoma. The apartment was perfect for us with a one bedroom and a pullout couch. With a very modern and stylish decor, it also had every amenity we needed and was very neat and clean. We enjoyed being able to walk out the door to be downtown or on the bike path in minutes. Stephanie was a wonderful host. I highly recommend this apartment.

COMFY, CLEAN AND QUIANT APARTMENT W/ CARING OWNER

  • 5 out of 5
When we first arrived we were warmly greeted by the owner and we were more than happy with the apartment. Not only was it spotless, but had all the amenities you needed, fresh flowers, coffee/tea/hot coco maker, complimentary wine and extra toothbrushes, which i happened to forget at home. To make our get away even more enjoyable, the walking/bike trail with beautiful views of Folsom lake is just down the street and old time Folsom is only a block away with outdoor eating, music, bars, shops and a very reasonable Saturday farmers market. I highly recommend staying here and visiting the Folsom area, I know that we will back!!!

Owner's Response: Maria, thank you for the glowing response! I do hope you return to Folsom for another visit in the future, and when you do, that you will think of staying in my guest house.

You were so quiet and neat, a wonderful guest!

The apartment was spotless, well-equipped, and artistically furnished, and just a few steps from the bike trail. Stephanie is a gracious and generous hostess, providing everything from coffee to restaurant advice. We enjoyed a peaceful retreat while there.
