beauty by the sea

  • 5 out of 5
This is a little gem on the sea!
If you are looking for a warm, welcoming home away-from-home with all of the essentials, this holiday home is for you! Perfect for those who want a home base for exploring the stunning beauty of Connemara. Bring your GPS and vehicle to discover the Irish landscape! Riona is an expert guide with knowledge of local sights, amazing culinary finds and interesting things to do. We stayed in Aoibhneas - a generous 2-room apartment in the main house equipped with a full kitchen, living room and bath.
The views from the apartment look out over the sea and the rock-lined pastures behind the house. This is a great spot for young families and couples who want to see the real side of Ireland!

Pour aimer l'Irlande! In love with Connemara.

Pour aimer l'Irlande! In love with Connemara.

Endroit superbe, en bord de mer, appartement méticuleusement entretenu et propre. Frigo garni à l'arrivée, Hôtesse généreuse, puit de connaissance sur la région, aimant sa langue et son coin de pays. Parfait. L'air le plus pur de l'Europe : c'est vrai. Notre meilleur souvenir d'Irlande!

Wonderful quiet place, by the sea. Lovely apartment, ultra-clean, with all amenities, including a well-stocked fridge (enough for a hearthy breakfast anyway) on arrival, and complimentary bottle of wine. Mrs Green is a walking encyclopedia of the region and gave us a full hour course on what and where and why in Connemara! The purest air in Europe! and she didn't laugh when we tried to speak Irish...

Fond memories of a lovely week. Try it!

Connemara Beauty

  • 5 out of 5
Had the time of my life with the girl of my dreams in beautiful Connemara. We did a lot of hiking along the coast right outside our room as well as in the national park. The accommodations were perfect; clean and comfortable with enough space to move around after unpacking. Rionna is an amazing resource for information about the area and she had a book of maps and descriptions of the best places to go. We hiked up to a church carved into the rock and we were the only ones there besides the sheep. We were on the road most days and there are a couple markets nearby which we could buy some things and cook. The kitchen had everything we needed. It was just so wonderfully peaceful and scenic. Although there were some tourists like us; most of the pubs and markets are mainly full of locals. We will certainly be back for more that Connemara has for us to experience.

Bru na mara

  • 5 out of 5
We stayed in Bru na mara for a week, which was ideal for us as we like to get away from crowds and the usual tourist centres. The appartment was exceptionally clean and tastefully decorated and the "starter kit" in the kitchen was especially welcome as we arrived quite late at night. Riona takes great pride in her work and is always ready with helpful suggestions, be it sightseeing, shopping or local info. We were lucky enough to be there during a traditional music festival which was an added bonus. If you enjoy quiet sandy beaches, rugged hills, the sea and friendly pubs and restaurants, then this is definitely for you! Thank you, Riona, for a memorable holiday.

We, my cousins an me stayed a week at this beautiful and peaceful place. We stayed at sonas sitting room. we felt like home. Rioana is such a lovely person. She told us where to go and which spots we have to see.
If you sitting behind the house, looking across the sea, you can watch the beatiful sunsets going down.
We really enjoyed our holiday at Bru na mara and Connemara. Anytime again.

The "Honeysuite" Sonas of Bru-Na-Mara

The "Honeysuite" Sonas of Bru-Na-Mara
  • 5 out of 5
You'll get a filled fridge for breakfast, a bottle of vine, everything is clean and made with so much love and originality. At Bru Na Mara you'll have the sweetest apartment you will get when you are on holidays in the west of Ireland.
Because we didn't find the way immediatly we've been guided in Carna to our little residence, where we stayed for the next 7 days.
The beautiful sight around the house and the great landscapes make amends of the car-tour from Dublin to Carna!
You also get a lot of informations and brochures of the villages and sightseeings around Carna and a map so you wont lose your way. There are a lot of things to visit like the Kylemore Abbey, the Connemara Nationalpark and the nice city Clifden with all its cute little shops. It really is worth the time to travel to all this places!

We will travel to this amazing place any time again and hope everbody else who decides making holidays at Bru Na Mara will share this opinion with us!
