BIRD WATCHER'S & STAR GAZER'S PARADISE

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday estate in Tubac - Los Pajaro's - (The Bird's)

Two Master Bedrooms, Two Master Baths, 3 Fireplaces, Horse Facilities

Once a former Dude Ranch, Hacienda Los Pajaro's is now available as a vacation rental. Hard to believe it was once a one room homesteaders cabin with an outhouse. Over the years it has grown into a 2,466 sq. ft. estate it is today, maintaining it's original charm and historical integrity.

Bring your own horse and ride out on the trails or hunt in style while staying on this 18 acre, mesquite studded rolling hills, secluded estate fit for John Wayne. Enjoy the wonderful climate Southern, Arizona has to offer and ride out on State and Federal lands for what feels like unending miles. You will be staying in the main head quarters ranch house with; Two large master bedrooms, each with a private bath. Fully equipped kitchen with full size refrigerator, heartland stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and coffee pot. Family room with fireplace, large windows for viewing the bird antics. Dining room, office with Wi-Fi, third bath and grand foyer. Horse paddocks with electric and auto water. Plenty of trailer parking space. 700 sq. ft. of covered outdoor living space out the back door. Adobe walled compound with 16 ft. tall gates. An outdoor fireplace just off the front entrance gives you the opportunity to kick back, have a drink, listen to coyotes chatter as the orange sun sets and a night full of stars begins. All this while your magnificent beast are a no more than a few feet away and always in view from the main house with it's massive walls of windows.

Upon entering Los Parjaro's you will be greeted by a 6 foot tall parlor stove circa 1915 which once graced a hotel in Colorado and now stands in the foyer. The foyer is 10 feet deep and runs the length of the house. Through a set of French doors you will enter the bedroom wing which houses both master bedrooms and baths. Large rooms and walk in Mexican tiled shower make for an extremely ADA friendly vacation for the whole family. Washer and dryer available just off the master bath.

Arivaca is a charming township off the beaten path, yet assessable by hard surface roads. No traffic noise here, just the nightly chatter of coyotes. Arivaca has a local Mercantile with gas pumps, (no diesel so fill up in Green Valley). Library with more Wi-Fi, Post Office, La Gitana Cantina with full bar, Gadsen Coffee Shop, Sweet Peas Café Serving Breakfast and Lunch, Jan's TLC Dog Grooming, James Barber Shop, Arivaca Clinic, (part of United Healthcare) and Fire Department. Artist Co-op, and a Farmer Market every Saturday where organic treasures abound.

ACTIVE COUPLE AGES 50-59

My wife and I like desert hikes so, we had Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument as one of our road trip destinations. We ended up picking Hacienda Los Pajaros ranch as our destination and as it turned out, our time there ended up being the highlight of our stay in AZ. We took a few very nice hikes but, we loved getting back to the ranch and just kicking back. The amenities were excellent and Michelle is a FANTASTIC host! She was always available to provide us with helpful information about the area which made our stay very pleasant.

Owner's Response: Hey You Two!

Was just thinking about you, wondering how the rest of your trip went? Thank you for leaving the ranch house in "Tip-Top" shape, much appreciated. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and did manage to enjoy a few hikes. The weather was not to hot, nor to cold to spend some time out taking in nature.

Currently the ranch is loaded with birds, birds, and more BIRDS! The flock of Cow Birds are back, (always entertaining to watch the courtship's take place), along with our summer resident Bullocks Oriole's whom are building a nest under the eaves on the back porch. Humming birds are putting nest from pervious years, in the tack room, back into service.

If you ever find yourself in this neck of the world I would love to have you back, you are delightful guest and indeed keepers.

Happy Trails ,and Again "Thank You!"

AWESOME HIDDEN SHANGRI-LA

  • 5 out of 5
We recently stayed at this incredible place for a week, and are definitely going back next year! It was such a joy to arrive at a place that went way beyond our expectations. The pictures and description of this place by its owner, although extremely accurate ,do not do it justice. We felt that we had arrived ,not just at the Los Pajaros ranch but someone's private well cared for home or mansion. We have stayed at various VRBO properties and have never experienced the quality that awaited us here. From the spices in the pantry and exceptional kitchen ,which lacked nothing, to the fluffy white towels and beautifully tiled walk in shower ,to 1200 count egyptian sheets, and impeccable furniture throughout the house ,we found it an absolute joy!
As for the house itself, every window, and they stretched from one end of the ranch house to other, looked out at well cared for grounds. Two wonderful full length porches( in the front and back) awaited morning coffee or evening star gazing. There was inside and outside fireplaces filled with wood and ready to be lit. The ranch is surrounded by fence and we felt safe and well protected. Besides, the delightful owner lives in a cabin near by and is just a phone call away. The owner was extremely knowledgeable and helpful from sightseeing to making sure we had everything we could possible need. This place is an adventure of a lifetime, and the owner is someone you would like as a lifelong friend. We found a place that anyone would want to go back to again and again. The Wolff's

Owner's Response: Yvonne,
Thank you for the wonderful review. You have humbled me. I was delighted to have you and your husband stay at Los Pajaro's and glad you enjoyed your stay enough to return in the future. It truly is a place to decompress from hectic lives or warm up chilly bones if coming from the North. Our weather this winter has indeed been exceptional and in the summer our wild life blossoms as well as the flowers. Currently it's the rose garden that is in full bloom. "Los Pajaro's" means "The Birds", there is not a shortage of darling little creatures at the ranch and so much fun to watch. With the compound being walls and fenced the little creatures have noting to fear and many have chosen to make it their home. Upon your return, we will venture out further with a quick jaunt up to Tucson for the day and enjoy some of it's best kept secrets.
Should I be traveling to your fair state of WI, I will indeed, be certain to let you know and see if it's possible to spend some more time together. The joy of being a VRBO, is meeting wonderful people such as your self and your husband. It is a great comfort to know such fine individuals are enjoying their stay at Los Pajaro's.
Until we meet again,
Michelle

R & R

R & R

This property was exactly what we were looking for--quiet, peaceful, comfortable and easy. We were looking for a secluded spot away from absolutely everything, we found it in this home, in the entire surroundings. The home has a lot of character and the love that was put into making it a true home is very apparent in every aspect. The home owner is a true gem, she leaves nothing to chance and makes sure that everything is in order. We could not have asked for anything more than was offered, we were in our glory. The owner lives nearby but is not invasive at all, respected our space and privacy so much. We enjoyed the time that we did spend with her, she is so wonderful to be around that we wished we could have spent more time with her. If you are looking for that true "get away from it all" vacation, this is where you want to be. Zero complaints, the property was exactly as in the pictures, immaculately clean. We are already making plans on returning in the future.

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed your stay and that the ranch went beyond your expectations for some much needed R&R and defrosting of chilled bones. I truly enjoy sharing this hidden oasis and meeting new people, who come to be considered part of my extended family.

I am looking forward to your return so we might share some good cheer and more time spent together. When you do return if you wish to have more students than the current main headquarter's structure accommodates, let me know what your census will be. We now have the capabilities to provide "Glamping Tents". The tents allow for more sleeping quarters within the HQ compound. They can include a wood burning fire places for what we here is the southern AZ consider, "cold winter evenings". The tents interiors have the option of being basic camp interiors or as highfalutin as you desire.
I'm looking forward to meeting some of your majestic, four legged, family members and total agree with you in that horses are all that is needed to complete the property. I have no doubt with your expertise and over sight, I will indeed ride on the back of a horse once again.

Until we meet again, Happy Trails!

THE PROPERTY WAS AMAZING! PLENTY OF ROOM

  • 5 out of 5
Very clean and spacious with many great features. Listing was accurate. Property was very clean and well maintained. Excellent customer service from the owner. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone.

Large, private yard that is completely fenced. Very relaxing and quiet. Close to many hiking/jeep trails. Although close to the border felt very safe at the property and in the surrounding area.

We spent 3 weeks here. Thanks Michelle!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the wonderful review and glad the Hacienda surpassed expectations. It indeed worked out well for with a short commute to work, and allowed for a peaceful and star filled night in which for you to unwind in the evenings. The weather could not have been more perfect during your stay and nice you managed to take in a round of golf after all your hard work. All four of your were a delight to have as guest. You are more than welcome to return any time. - Michelle
