In the north of the island you can expect great, lonely landscapes and the highest mountain on the island, Roque de los Muchachos (mountain of the wild guys) with astronomical observatories and an unforgettable panoramic view of the island and, when the weather is nice, also a view of the neighboring islands of Tenerife (with the Teide, the highest mountain in Spain), La Gomera and El Hierro.
The island capital Santa Cruz de La Palma is worth a trip; If possible, visit until 1 p.m. in the morning because it is particularly lively; old city center, town hall courtyard, cathedral, island museum, replica of Santa Maria des Columbus, idyllic old market hall, two beautiful theaters with frequent concerts, many beautiful cafés and Spanish tapas bars; recently a city beach has been artificially created and will be used from 2018.
