I retired after 30+ years as a professor in the art department of Sacramento State. I continue to work in my home studio daily. We are also avid road cyclists, home wine makers and gardeners/landscapers. As long time fans of all Northern California we are delighted to share information on the best our neighborhood and the surrounding areas have to offer to make your trip memorable.

The best vrbo I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. Period. Beautiful.
Upon entering the loft, you experience a sense of serenity and comfort. The space is exquisitely decorated with a sense of place and style. A welcome bottle of wine along with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, was one of the many expressions style and class to the loft. The amenities from the "smart" TV to the well stocked kitchen and bath, provided comfort and ease to the stay. As a business traveler, the loft was retreat to serenity from the hustle and bustle of a convention week.
This is an amazing space: it is beautiful, tastefully appointed with mid-century modern furniture and comfortable textiles, and is spacious and comfortable. The loft is classy and welcoming at the same time, with plenty of air and light that complement the fine natural materials used in its elegant construction. There is a large flat-screen TV and free wireless internet access. The artist couple who run it are excited about sharing their love for their home and for their city, and are a fountain of helpful information about sights, restaurants, and natural attractions. It is quiet and there is easy parking, yet it is close to downtown and freeway access. A hot tub and lovely gardens with a variety of citrus and fruit trees complement the beautiful setting; extra added attractions include interior and exterior exhibitions of the artwork of this renowned artist. It is perfect as a getaway or as a refuge from business meetings. HIGHLY recommended!
It's so rare that one finds an accommodation that is both beautiful and comfortable; typically you sacrifice one for the other. This urban loft has it all. It was a pure joy to be surrounded by the art and design of this space, both indoors and outdoors, such a pleasure. And it was the comfortable touches - the bottle of wine, the bowl of home-grown grapefruit & mandarins (so sweet!), the elegant curl-up-and-read-in mid-century modern chair, and the mattress and pillows - I sigh recalling my visit. I was in Sacramento that weekend to run the marathon and what could have been a mediocre hotel stay turned out to be the loveliest loft, a dreamy highlight that introduced me to a cool neighborhood in the city. It was also nice to be within a mile's walk of so many fantastic restaurants and a Trader Joe's. I will find an excuse to come back for sure. Hosts were absolutely delightful.
This is a fabulous loft. If you love contemporary art and enjoy quiet, beautiful surroundings in a lovely neighborhood this is your place. If you want to relax in very sleek surroundings this is your place. We appreciated all the warm hospitality (friendly conversations, nice bottle of wine, use of the hot tub) and enjoyed the entire stay. We will definitely come back when in Sacramento. We feel very fortunate to have stumbled upon this home and sculpture garden. Loved it!!!
My husband and I stayed here for 30 days to get settled into Sacramento after a cross-country move. I am so glad we did! This light and airy loft is furnished with beautiful artwork and has all the modern amenities you need to feel right at home. The space was immaculate and the bed was comfortable. The kitchenette includes everything you need to prepare a satisfying meal -- a fridge with freezer, 2 burner convection stove top, microwave, toaster oven, utensils, pots and pans, dishes, and spices. The fact that we could cook a meal worked out well for our longer stay. The location is within walking distance to many restaurants, stores, and other amenities. We appreciated that we could leave our car behind and explore the area by foot, or take a ride on our bikes to Midtown. Debbie & Jerry, the owners, are super friendly and accommodating. This was our first experience using VRBO and what a memorable one it was! I know this loft sets the bar at the top for VRBO accommodations. I HIGHLY recommend you stay here!
