If you want a vacation far from the tourist crowds this is your place. I doubt if any property on the island offers so much privacy while also being close to restaurants, grocery shopping, and all the activities you could want. We went snorkeling at the reef right off the private beach behind the house and saw beautiful fish. I went bone fishing on a flats boat minutes away from the house. The Botanical gardens, the Mastic Trail, Rum Point, Bodden Town, and the East End are just a few miles from the house. We sat on the pool deck and could see the water spouts from the blow holes while enjoying adult beverages.
The house is well appointed with comfortable beds, furniture, first class appliances, and is perfectly maintained. Very homey. It is the cleanest vacation house we have ever rented.
A few days after we returned home my wife asked me what my favorite part of the trip was. I told her that the snorkeling behind the house, the bone fishing, the Mastic Trail hike, having drinks at Over the Edge were all some of my favorite things. When I asked her what her favorite part was she simply replied, "the house". I think she is right.
Renting a vacation house always requires a leap of faith between what the owner - web site portrays and the reality of what you find when you arrive. This time our leap of faith was well rewarded. We feel very fortunate that we found this house and I have a strong feeling that we will rent it again in the future.
