Guestbook comments from the owner
We spent a delightful week at Villa Albert in the Buda hills overlooking the city. The villa is comfortable and luxurious in every respect, with fine furniture, tasteful artwork, and state-of-the-art appliances. Our party occupied 5 of the 6 bedrooms with each person enjoying privacy, a comfortable bed and luxurious bath. The kitchen was beautifully equipped with the latest appliances and stylish dishes and glassware, and the large dining table could accommodate more than our party of six. There were TVs in most bedrooms, as well as in the living room, with a selection of DVDs. We also made use of the Internet on the computer graciously supplied by Albert. A couple of us enjoyed swimming in the pool on the lower level while watching the snow pile up on the deck outside. The house is unique in that the living area is on four floors while the garage is accessible via a lift. From the house we were able to hike into the surrounding hills and watch children sledding and adults nordic skiing. Since our hike was hindered by the snow and cold weather, we hope to return in the warmer months and make it to the top of the hill where a monument is illuminated each night. The beauty of Budapest exceeded our expectations, and once again, we hope to return for further exploration. There is grocery shopping convenient to Villa Albert and some high-end shops at the "Mom Park" shopping mall a comfortable driving distance away. I would recommend a car to those staying at Villa Albert since transportation into the city is a bit of a hike down the hill (and UP on the way back), although the walk would be pleasant in warmer weather. Albert is a gracious and attentive host and a delight to talk to. If you are planning a visit to Villa Albert, I envy you! It is one of those magical places that one remembers for a long time while scheming about how quickly one can return.
