Good bus service to Los Llanos and Santa Cruz de La Palma. Less than a minute to the Beach.
There are 2 x one bedroom apartments available. Please do not just look at calendar availability - best to contact me directly.
Nearby is the national park de la Caldera de Taburiente is the largest national park of La Palma, Spain. The diameter of the Caldera de Taburiente is 10 kilometers and the highest point is Roque de Muchachos (2426 m). In 1954 the Caldera de Taburiente was declared as a national park of Spain.
The national park is of volcanic origin and was formed by multiple eruptions.
Los Llanos de Aridane is the main town on the western side of the Island of La Palma, La Isla Bonita, in the Canary Islands.
It is a lively and thriving town in a wonderful setting close to the beaches at Puerto Naos and Tazacorte and to the entrance to the Caldera de Taburiente.
The town itself is a mixture of old world charm and the necessities of modern life. There are cobbled streets, a very old church, well restored Canary style buildings and ancient Laurisilver trees around the Plaza de Espana.
Los Llanos also has the facilities of a modern town with many shops, large supermarkets, restaurants, bars, several Internet Cafes. a large medical center and sports facilities.
Los Llanos is the hub of the bus routes on the western side of the island with regular services to Puerto Naos, Tazacorte, El Paso, Santa Cruz, Tijarafe, Puntagorda and Garafia.
Really lovely apartment. Location was absolutely perfect with regards to the beach and restaurants and bars. I loved the shared roof top as had such a lovely views of the ocean.
The apartment was exactly what we needed. It was well equipped with a washing machine and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. I would definitely recommend this place and considering going back again for Easter if they have availability!!
Must thank Patricia for the standard of this apartment, it is clean, comfortable and well maintained. We are in our 60s, and like a mixture of selfcatering and eating out. The Luz y Mar was perfect for us.
A perfect place for a quiet holiday.
Booking with Patricia was easy and quick.
We booked a taxi for the transfer from the airport, and the driver was there to meet us. We were met and shown round the apartment, which was clean and just as advertised. Oranges, bananas and a bottle of wine were a nice welcome.
Puerto is lovely, and we used nearly all the restaurants, which were excellent.
Didn't bother with car hire, just used bonocards (get them from the bus station in Los LLanos) on the buses, which gave a maximum price for any journey of Euro 1.60 each. Travelled the whole island, which is beautfull.
Walks are brilliant, but after 200/300 metres expect to climb, sometimes quite steeply.
Weather perfect for the whole fortnight
Will definite go again.
Just to tell you we had a really good week in your apartment in Puerto Tazacorte. The weather was excellent - particularly in PT itself - and we were pleasantly surprised how many restaurants there were in such a small town. We had dinner in a different restaurant every night. Other facilties are also very good, with supermarket and pharmacy right downstairs. The apartment was very comfortable and excellent value. We had breakfast on the balcony every morning, usually at 0935 when the sun comes round the mountain. My only suggestions would be that it would be useful to provide a sponge and dishwashing liquid for the kitchen, a little more shelving in the bedroom wardrobe and more hooks for hanging towels etc in the bathroom. The fruit and wine on arrival were a very nice touch. I would recommend your apartment without hesitation to anyone looking for a sunny place close to the beach but with ready access to the rest of the island.
These apartments are perfectly located right in the centre of Puerto de Tazacorte, with sea views and directly overlooking the central lido area of the town, literally within a minutes walk of the lovely, black sandy beach. The apartment block comprises 3 floors (5 apts per floor) above shops on the ground level. There's a supermarket and Pharmacy directly below the apts, and also a couple of cafe/bars and an ice cream parlour, as well as a gift shop in the street.
The apartment was easy to find (Puerto de Tazacorte is a very small place) with free on street parking close by. We were met upon arrival by Ana, a spanish lady who spoke very little English, (and we very little Spanish!) who showed us around the apt. We stayed in No. 105 which is located on the first floor directly above the supermarket entrance. The apartment was very clean and great value for money. Kitchen facilities and equipment were rather basic (2 ring stove only) so eating in could be a bit restricted (we didn’t bother to cook as there were enough decent, reasonably priced restaurants very near by.)
Although the street below was often busy we had no problems with noise or disturbance at night either from below or from any of the adjoining apartments.
The roof top sun terrace is a great place to sunbathe if you don't fancy the beach - we had it all to ourselves whenever we went up there, it was so peaceful.
Puerto de Tazacorte, for such a tiny place, has around 7 - 8 restaurants which during our stay (Christmas week) were always busy and bustling. We ate at 5 different places during our stay and all were very good. Most concentrate primarily on fish dishes, however meat dishes are available and there's a very good Italian restaurant facing the Harbour entrance called Il Tremonto, which does excellent pizzas - well worth trying.
The supermarket was well stocked so there was no need to travel far afield to do the basic shopping, however if you need a bank / cash machine you’ll need to travel to Tazacorte for the nearest as there’s none in Puerto de T.
La Palma is a stunning island - so very different to the more touristy islands of the Canaries. The scenery is breathtaking, and the walking is fantastic. Puerto de Tazacorte makes a great base for a laid back and relaxed holiday - we loved it and would happily go back time and again.
S & J,
La Palma island is a fantastic place if you like walking in the mountains, swimming in the sea or just enjoy an vacation. The place has all the convenience of a turistic island but you avoid mostly the massive package tour tourism you find some places on Tenerife.
We stayed 9 days in Puerto Tazacorte. We found the apartment easily and meet with dona Ana. She is so very helpful and kind.
It is, however, not acceptable that there is only one set of keys available.
The location of the apartment is the very best and you have a nice view to the harbour and the beach from the balcony.
We spend most of our time walking in the mountain during the day and swimming in the sea in the afternoon.
In Puerto Tazacorte you can really get all you need from the local mini-market, and there are plenty of restaurant and bars, mostly of the cheaper turistic kind.
As there also is local life and fishing boats in the harbour the place has a very pleasant atmosphere.
From Puerto Tazacorte it is an easy walk to Tazacorte and a little longer walk to Llanos de Ariadne. If you do not want to walk you can take a taxi or the bus.
Some days we cooked ourselves, even if the apartment is not too well equipped with cooking were and the fuses blows if the electrical water heater runs at the same time with the two hot plates.
The place is very well suited for two persons and would be OK a family with one child.
We would recommend this apartment to other and we would happily rent it ourselves again.
-Location of the apartment and Dona Ana
-The balcony and the view
-all the convenience of Puerto Tazacorte
Could be better
-Cooking ware and knifes
-Only 1 set of keys.
-Some noise from bars (not really bad)
Tazacorte is situated on the west side of the island and claims to be the warmest place on the island. It is divided into 2 villages.
Puerto de Tazacorte is on the coast and has a long promenade, a fishing harbour, a black sand beach and an area with boulevard, bars and (fish) restaurants.
Tazacorte pueblo (village) as about 1km above the coast and is the main center with the town hall, post office, shops and supermarket.
Tazacorte is connected to both of the major roadways on the island, that which encircles the island as well as a road that crosses the island roughly at its center.
Sun and warm temperatures are usually guaranteed in Tazacorte throughout the year. On the La Palma coast the temperatures are usually between 20C and 25C in the winter and 20C to 32C in the summer months. The night temperatures seldom fall below 18C. In the summer the temperatures seldom rise above 35C.
