Kassiopi, a fishing village, is located about 35 kilometres from Corfu town on the north-east coast of Corfu. It is well known for its picturesque harbour and its stone-paved village square. Kassiopi has something for everyone: a fine selection of beaches, plenty of bars, restaurants, shops and boats. Here the old sits comfortably side by side with the new and while you relax in the port you can enjoy the view of its Byzantine Fortress destroyed in the 14th century by the Venetians who took pieces of stone from this castle to reinforce the one in Corfu Town, the rugged coast of Albania and the comings and goings of fishing vessels. Our Orthodox Church in the harbour, as well as the Church of Saint George,up the hill, are places of a great historical interest. Beaches, like Kanoni,Bataria,Votana and Avlaki, are surrounding our village, forming the north-east coast of our island. Erimitis,a protected area for its flora & fauna, & its three lakes, are places of interest, you cannot miss.
