LOVELY COTTAGE & LOCATION

Lovely cottage & location
  • 5 out of 5
What a great place! The cottage was immaculate, well presented and very spacious (there were only 2 of us staying but even with 6 there would still be plenty of space) as are the gardens. As others have said it's great to be able to take a walk direct from the cottage door and we also saw both sea & golden eagles locally. We've visited Skye previously but there remain endless places to visit on this occasion we particularly enjoyed walking and the views at Elgol, Loch Brittle and Raasay. The cottage was well equipped and had everything we needed for the week. Paul & Carole (York).

Owner's Response: Hi Paul & Carole,

Many thanks for your feedback on your stay. As you note the walks in Glenbrittle forest from right outside the front door allow you to enjoy a short stroll or a good long hike without the need to get in your car. Some dramatic views of the Cuillins are enjoyed for those who venture to the top of the forest. The forest tracks are also suitable for mountain biking.

Lindsay

FANTASTIC COTTAGE, HIDDEN GEM.

  • 5 out of 5
Looks great on the website, but even better when youre there!

Inside and out the cottage is immaculate with all you could want for a weeks stay. It really is a home from home, beautiful furniture and furnishings, just a fab place to chill out and get away from city life. Loads of things to do on the doorstep, and amazing views of the golden and sea eagles in the glen from the comfort of the house!

Cant recomend the cottage enough, book it now!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your great feedback Steve & Nikki. As you say there is so much wildlife to enjoy in the glen, with walks into Glenbrittle forest or down to Loch Eynort without the need to get into a car. Great tracks for cycling too in the forest - many thanks again for leaving a mountain bike for future guests to enjoy!

A FABULOUS HOLIDAY HOUSE - IN ANY WEATHER!!

  • 5 out of 5
We went to this house knowing that we wouldnt get the best weather, but as the house was so well equipped it didnt bother us at all! The views from the house are amazing, the facilities mean you need to take nothing but food and the gardens are beautiful... right outside the front gate are walks in 2 directions that show you the loch and the forrest and a short drive away are some more walks and a shop and pub. Both the owner of the house and the housekeepers are brilliantly friendly and helpful. We would recommend this to ANYONE really, we are a family of 3 with a 15 month old and he loved his room ( bunk room set out for kids) and was supplied with a good quality high chair and travel cot.

RAVEN COTTAGE, EYNORT

  • 5 out of 5
The house is beautifully finished and in a stunning location. We loved sitting out by the stream in the garden. It was a good base for exploring Skye. There is so much wildlife to see! We had a great week & hope to return to explore more.

The Aqua Xplore 4 hour trip to Canna was a highlight. Very exciting, seeing dolphins, seals, eagles, puffins, etc along the way plus magnificent views of the Cuillins.

Owner's Response: Hello Phil & Jenny,

Many thanks for your lovely feedback. I am very pleased you enjoyed the cottage so much and the wildlife you can see in the garden. Sitting at the decking by the stream a few guests have been lucky enough to see our resident otters.

Aqua Xplore boat trip is a great day out - the puffins at Canna are fabulous.

4TH JUNE 2011

  • 5 out of 5
An excellent cottage in a superb location for accessing the whole island with some great walks from the door. The furnishings were of a very high standard making the cottage very comfortable and home from home. Also a well equipped kitchen with all you could ask for. The telescope provided was great for seeing the eagles – much appreciated. The house keepers lived very near and were very informative on our arrival and able to help with any queries during the week. The nearby Talisker distillery is worth a visit and the New Inn in Carbost was good for enjoying a drink after a good days walking. Skye skins was interesting when the legs got tired as was Dunegan Castle.

RAVEN COTTAGE

  • 5 out of 5
We have been to Raven Cottage twice now and loved the whole experience. The setting is isolated and peaceful and the accomodation is first class. There are amazing walks and scenery just outside the front door. The cottage is cosy and warm with a lovely log fire and has the most fantastic master bedoom up in the eaves. Surrounded by a lovely garden with a balcony over the stream, it is picturesque and a wonderful place for a holiday.

The walk to Tusdale is particularly beautiful with an abundance of wildlife. We've seen a golden eagle, a sea eagle and an otter on this walk alone.

Carbost, the local village is close by with a small shop for essentials.

We reccommend Aqua Explore and SkyeSkyns as good days out.

Owner's Response: Hello Simon & Sarah,

Thank you so much much for your wonderful feedback. The best feedback is from those people who have returned to our cottage on Skye for a second visit as you have. It was lovely that you chose Raven Cottage for your honeymoon. The peace & tranquility our cottage provides surrounded by hills and a stream with wildlife in abundance is wonderful.

Best regards,

Lindsay
