This spectacular estate perched on Lake Travis transcends the Hill Country near Lago Vista…whisking you off to a stately chateau in the heart of France. The column-flanked, tree-lined approach to the classic circular drive sets the stage for the grand home.

This 8 bedroom, 9 bathroom home sits on 12.6 acres with 800 feet of water front. Celebrating the natural stone of both Texas and France, the exterior and interior of the home features detailed stonework custom carved onsite by a French sculptor. Grand columns with custom Corinthian capitals, traditional stone balustrades and two-story waterfall adorn the entrance.

Before even entering the home, one’s eyes are drawn to the surroundings on which the house sits. Smooth lawns, formal plantings and spectacular lake views all add to the feeling of being at a European retreat.

An undeniable focal point of the entry is the large waterfall that flows from a massive window into a decorative pond, adding a soft ambient sound to the entrance.

Indoors, the waterfall continues as it enhances the formal living with the same waterfall ambiance, a step over river, and special lighting for the evenings.

Entry grandeur is continued inside the house, from the sweeping iron and stone staircases to the limestone arches, and dark-wood accented ceilings that carry you into the formal sunken living area. Creamy walls with stone accents and tumbled travertine floors create a cool, elegant feel, while a large two-story wall of windows captures remarkable views. The spacious island holds an extra-large sink; an additional sink, high-end appliances and a huge walk-in pantry. We had a celebration for one of my friend's long awaited engagement. There were 19 ladies and we had the most amazing time. The home is so big that we just wandered around for ages just taking it all in. All of the rooms had views of the lake and grounds. We spent an afternoon at a winery (which is 5 minutes away) and then had our dinner prepared and served by their chefs. It was worth every penny as it was like going to an expensive restaurant without having to drive anywhere - we even dressed up for the occasion. We also took advantage of the cocktail cruise that is an option (for a fee) and spent 4 hours sipping wine and munching on hor d' oeuvres while taking in beautiful Lake Travis. The water level may be low but this property is on the main lake and still has plenty. The rest of the time we spent by the pool or snoozing under the palappas.

GREAT place to celebrate regardless of the reason. Thanks for the memories.

The best of the best

Normally I do not take the time to post a review, but in this case I just had to. I have never seen a more beautiful property in my life, from the meandering driveway encased in flowers to the outside waterfall and immaculate grounds. We had 4 families with several children and we could have arrived with just our bathing suits and been fine. There is nothing that this home does not provide. Truly it was as if we had our own private 5 star resort, completely private with every amenity that one could possibly think of including all of the extras required for young children. Every room had a spectacular view of the lake, and all of the bedrooms have their own balcony. Their chefs, Mike and Linda stocked the home before we arrived - very beneficial as we came from all different states - and prepared and served a wonderful dinner under the stars. The owners took their time to explain how everything worked and we did not see them unless we called with a request. Our entire family is still talking about our time together. This trip was the best of the best. Thanks to the owners Paul and Wendy.

Amazing honeymoon

My husband and I were just treated to a few days in paradise. Paul and Wendy are the property owners and the most gracious hosts you could hope for. Never once did we see them during our stay as we enjoyed total privacy. The master bedroom and ensuite are the definition of luxury!!! The entire property- inside and out were spotless and immaculately kept. These people obviously take great pride in what they do. The entire stay was a dream. Thank you so much!!! We are hoping to come back for many anniversaries to come.

Best Family Vacation!!

We had our best family vacation at this amazing lakefront house on Lake Travis. The house is a work of art, beautifully constructed and exceptionally well planned! Even a fire pole on the kid’s end of the house to slide down to the first floor! The house has great flow and a great floor plan with I think 8 bathrooms. I particularly loved having everything so nice and new. The entire house, even the bar area has stainless steel, double sub-zero fridge and freezer, and several ice makers. I loved everything about the kitchen. It probably had the biggest island I have ever seen and huge prep spaces, 2 ovens, prep sink all while looking out over the amazing water view and negative edge pool. The house is so spacious that everyone has privacy and space to spread out. The third level observation deck was amazing at night! No light pollution and we could see satellites passing over. The size of the house is incredible and it made it great for our entire family to come together. Incredibly peaceful overlooking the lake. We will definitely be back! Thank you for the hospitality and being available for our questions.

We booked for a company retreat. Usually the pictures are a little nicer than the actual home, but in this case the pictures did not do it justice. This place is amazing!!! All of our guests were extremely pleased with the accommodations. Paul and Wendy met us and showed us around. They made sure we were comfortable with the lighting, pool remote, and other nuances of the home. There was not one issue of anything not working. We look forward to booking again in the future. I traveled to Austin for a corporate retreat with 9 other business owners. We looked forward to the trip as the home looked beautiful in photos. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the listing.

When we arrived, the owner of the home gave us a tutorial of "how to's". They live in a condo above the garage so they are a stone throw from the main residence. There was very little instruction other than lighting and sound.

The refrigerator was off when we arrived, the sheets in the main bedroom were not clean (we had to strip the sheets and wash them ourselves) the entire home's lighting system automatically turned off at 10pm every night, and the air conditioning was set to 80 during a very hot and humid season. The thermostats were locked.

The owners entered the home often unannounced and once scolded our caterer for using her valuable plates. The morning of our departure, we were told to leave at 10am however there was nothing in our contract that stated this. The owner entered the home at 9:15am and started checking the rooms as well as turning off the AC in hopes it would expedite our leaving.

Overall, the home was beautiful and the grounds were emaculate. However the management and utilities left a bad taste in our mouth.

Owner's Response: What a complete shock to receive your disgruntled review especially considering the fact that when asked on numerous occassions during your stay how everything was going, all we ever heard was "great" and "perfect".
Sorry you felt so challenged with our home operating instuctions, but surely you could have asked questions, or better yet read the renter's manual that was on the kitchen counter. It explains in detail how everything works. You were also told to call with any problems - we heard nothing.
Our check-in and check-out times are clearly stated on the first page of the contract that you accepted. Perhaps you should have read it.
I apologize if the refrigerator was turned off but our housekeeping crew may have inadvertently pushed the power button when cleaning it. However, it could not have been turned off long as they left only a few minutes before your arrival. You were also provided an oversized ice chest filled with ice for your beverages.
Interesting that you claim our property is not equal to the photos or listing when the very first words out of everyone's mouth was how absolutely gorgeous our property and home were.
The sheets in the master bedroom and all of the other bedrooms were completely clean. I changed them myself so anything on your sheets had to have been spilled by you.
Our AC's were NOT set at 80 degrees as you claim and it was explained to you that all of our 10 AC units work by zones (they are locked for obvious reasons). You were asked to advise us if you desired any adjustments. Again we heard nothing until a storm clicked off a breaker shutting one unit down and Paul was there by request immediately to take care of it.
We did not enter the property on any occassion unannounced as you claim - the only time I went in was the last day when YOUR caterer wanted to give me some of her cards. You were out shopping. She was NOT scolded as you claim and I cannot fathom why you would make up such a story. Paul only came in the home when asked to fix the breaker. He also did not enter at 9:15 on departure day. He was outside straightening up our numerous patio and deck areas.
Our lights did NOT shut off at 10:00 pm every night but rather only one night during a bad storm and only for a few seconds. It must have been confusing for you to have to turn them back on.
We work extremely hard to achieve the kind of excellence that our guests enjoy, so it is a disappointment to have someone dissatisfied.

This is the most incredibly private and peaceful property on the lake. Although we have complete privacy we are only 10 minutes from Lago Vista shopping. We do NOT do weddings, bachelor or bachelorette parties.
