If you're looking for somewhere to stay and enjoy the true atmosphere of a Provencal village, look no further.The house is located in the heart of Callian below the 13th century castle. Just a three minute walk through traffic-free streets to the main square and you'll find the bakers, grocery store, bars and restaurants.

Roof terrace with views to the valley and hills beyond. Being south facing you have the sun for the day. Lovely views over the rustic red tile roof tops towards the neighbouring village of Montauroux. Reclining loungers, table, chairs and barbecue for outdoor dining.

Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two living rooms, well equipped kitchen and dining room - newly decorated in traditional Provencal style using local materials throughout.

Parking outside with 3 car parks nearby - all parking in Callian is free.

From May-September the streets are full of village ambiance. The main square is closed to through traffic on Friday and Saturday nights allowing live music near the restaurant terraces.

Details: The accommodation is on three floors.

The ground floor comprises a large bedroom with two single beds (or zipped together for kingsize), a bathroom with bathtub, shower, wash basin & toilet, a sitting room (which can be used for additional sleeping space) and the utility room.

The first floor includes a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and fireplace. There is a double bedroom and bathroom equipped with walk-in shower, wash basin & toilet. There is also an iPod dock available on this floor.

The top floor - a large living room with open fireplace leading to the roof terrace overlooking the valley and lake beyond. Television – 32” flat screen, national channels and freeview PLUS satellite for English speaking channels (BBC etc.). DVD player, and hi fi.

There are 2 comfortable sofa beds which can be used for overnight guests and visitors.

The Location: Callian - one of a string of fortified medieval villages - an ideal place to sample authentic French life and a convenient base from which to visit the many attractions of Provence. The nearest beaches are between thirty and forty minutes away; Theoule, Agay and Frejus/St Aygulf. The Lac St Cassien, a 10 minute drive, has excellent fresh water swimming and water activities, restaurants and picnic spots.

The Village: Callian has its traditional 'petanque' pitch (boules available in the house!) as well as a friendly tennis club with 4 hard courts.

From May-September the streets are full of village ambiance. The main square is closed to through traffic on Friday and Saturday nights allowing live music near the restaurant terraces.

Callian is perfect year round - in the spring, mild, sunny days; in summer, sunny days and warm evenings; in autumn, delicious game dishes, truffles and cepes, and in winter, the cosy comfort of log fires.

Within a ten minute drive, a Farmers Market, two supermarkets and a large choice of restaurants and speciality shops.

Home allows many people to reside in maintaining the privacy of people who live there.

the decor is very cozy and very telling of the owners.

is more suitable for adults, than young.

We have both worked in the travel industry for years and have had the good fortune to be able to visit many countries during that time. Even so, we are committed Francophiles and are at our happiest in our lovely place in Callian.

Victoria Cocking purchased this house in 1997

Tim and I bought the house for family holidays when our two children were 7 and 4 respectively. And we've been going there ever since. It really is a lovely house and we have made lots of friends locally. We want our guests to have good times too and we ensure that everything is ready and prepared for their stay.

The location is just brilliant. Within easy reach of the Cote d'Azur towns and Monaco (with Italy on the doorstep), Provence, Marseilles, Aix and the Camargue. And the village has an authentic feel and every amenity so close.

High Speed Internet Broadband use is free of charge. There is good Wi-Fi connectivity [many areas have poor signal but this location is graded 'Excellent Connectivity']. Land line telephone with portable handset for incoming and outgoing calls.

Nice area, nice village, nice house, nice owners!

We had 2 great weeks in the Provence!
Callian is a nice old village where you can see "normal" French live, but not fare away from the cost and the touristic places.
The house is very well equipped, clean, cozy and comfortable, we felt us like at home there. We love the view from the roof terrace and in some evenings we lighted the fireplace!
The booking process was very uncomplicated and we got many good tips for activities. The owners are very kind people! We will like to come back and would recommend the house to friends.

A very cosy getaway within easy reach of most of the major towns in the Riviera. Facilities in the house are more than adequate. The property is generally well maintained. More than enough restaurants, supermarkets and other establishments in and around Callian. Definitely return for another visit in the near future

Two Very Satisfied Clients

As you approach Callian by car you can clearly see its origins as a mediaeval fortified hill town. As such, the streets are quite steep and narrow, and parking is limited. There are some parking bays at the municipal centre, and the house is about 30 m down the street from there. We don't recommend driving down the street past the house as it gets very narrow and confined. The town itself is charming to walk around. There are numerous restaurants and bars,and every place we went to would be worth a second visit. The mini supermarket has absolutely everything we would ever need.
The house is on three levels, with the front door opening on the stairs between the lower and middle levels. The top level living room is well furnished and very comfortable, well supplied with reading matter and information on local attractions. It opens to an enclosed outdoor area giving fantastic views to the east and south. The middle level includes the dining area, well-equipped kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. The lower level comprises another bedroom and bathroom, and laundry. The house was clean & tidy on arrival, and amply supplied with linen.
The owner did an excellent job of managing our booking. All the advice and instructions were very comprehensive, and delivered well in advance of our visit. The response to e-mails was fast and friendly.

The nearest beaches are thirty minutes away; the nearest water sports at the Lac St Cassien, 15 minutes drive. St Tropez is an hour's drive west; Monte Carlo, an hour's drive east; 30 minutes further on and you're in Italy.
