Lovely place, almost perfect
We recently rented the one bedroom flat. It was a very good experience overall.
First, the location: The area in Belgravia is beautiful, just a few blocks away from Waitrose (supermarket), Harrods, and a quick walk from the Knightsbridge tube station and the rest of London. It's also in the heart of a very upscale neighborhood, surrounded by beautiful houses and embassies.
The flat itself was quite nice. Large (perfect for two people) and comfortable (and TONS of storage in the bedroom!). There is room for two more people, but they'd have to sleep on the two couches in the living room (maybe good for kids or a friend for the night), and the wifi is MUCH appreciated.
The kitchen is stocked with the basics (plates, pots and pans, utensils), and even included laundry and diswashing detergent. Surprisingly no microwave, but we didn't need it.
We did not meet the owner (Simon), but an assistant, Sadhick. He was very nice, meeting us at the apartment and showing us the few things we needed to know (wifi password, how to use the dishwasher and washing machine, and directions to Waitrose). He then disappeared, in a good way, telling us to call him for any problems (which we didn't have).
When I read these reviews, I'm particularly looking for "negatives", even for nice places, so that I enter into something with eyes open. In this case, I don't have much.
One small annoyance is the construction next door (they're basically building a new building right next door). Luckily, they started pretty much at the hour when we'd wake up anyway, so it wasn't that big a deal. However, others might find this an issue.
Another funny thing that happened is that a lady was knocking on our door on Saturday at 9 am. She was there to pick up some clothes that were stored in the cupboard because she was "going to Spain tomorrow". No advanced warning. This didn't really bother us, it was more funny rather than annoying. But it did happen without any warning.
I would also recommend the flat get just a few more towels, a tablecloth, and maybe another pan (there is only one). We used the tea-towel as a tablecloth. But these were hardly problems.
In summary, a very positive and pleasant experience. I would certainly stay here again the next time I am in London, and I'd recommend this to others as well.
Owner's Response: The construction site is not immediately next door as there is a flat imbertween which helps insulate the noise, this has been going on for 12 months and fortunately this is only the 2nd complaint.
Workers are only allowed to work between the hours of 8.30am to 17h fortunately most of our guests are out enjoying the site's and experience's of London.
It was the cleaner who knocked on the door as she needed to collect some linen, which I have to say is very unusual but she only knocked once she realised the guests were up.
Glad that in the main part these guests were happy with their stay.
