Blue Aweigh Cottage is a cozy but roomy cottage with amazing view! Full kitchen (see details below) , large br w/king size bed, and pull out sofa bed in lr(great for a kid or 2 or 3rd adult) flat screen TV-HDsatellite service, wifi,gas grill, washer & dryer, hair dryer, ironing bd & iron, beach towels,chairs,cooler all provided.
Kitchen has stove & oven,coffee maker,blender, dishwasher,microwave,full size fridge/freezer .
All linens, dishes, cooking equipment and utensils provided.
Decks off of lr & br have view of Caribbean sea,face southeast-sunrise-and you can hear the ocean-
The pool deck has 270 degree views and is perfect for sunset cocktails. Pool is large and refreshing after a day at the beach.And there is a hot tub as well
Eric Lambert is the owner and builder of Blue Aweigh Cottage. He and Paula Lambert purchased the property (land) in 1980 and built their own home. Then in 1992 built a cottage for Paula's parents to retire in.
Hurricane Marilyn blew it all down in September 1995. Including the main house.
We rebuilt our home and finished it in 1997, but did not get around to rebuilding the cottage until 2006.
Paula's parents left the island in November 1995 with no desire to come back (who can blame them). But Eric and Paula have deep roots here and finally were able to rebuild the cottage. It is named Blue Aweigh which is a play on words because it literally BLEW AWAY!
Both homes are constructed of solid concrete now, and were designed to take the whatever the elements dish out!
Our children were born and raised here. Eric is an avid SCUBA diver and fisherman with his best buddy Captain CC Kreglo.
Paula is a bookkeeper and has her office at home. Our children are grown and live in Illinois. So, when we can we are there spending as much time as possible with them and our grand children.
We have been on St John since July 1979, and even though the hurricanes were devastating, we cannot think of anywhere we'd rather live.
Eric built 30 homes on St John and is now busy managing our properties-we also own SAMBA AZUL-a 2 bedroom villa, VRBO #554121-check it out!

We purchased the lot for the view. Period.
The view is amazing, the location is quiet and safe. The cottage is cozy and comfortable-affording sunrise view and the pool deck is a great place to enjoy the sunset.
We always have cooling tradewinds and the night skies are full of stars.
The pool and hot tub are entirely for the use of our guests. The cottage has open beam ceilings, and open spacious floor plan.
When we are here and not travelling we are available to help with any questions, or issues that guests may have. And can address any random stuff that may arise-filling a propane tank for the grill for example.
I've gone to St. John for the last 13 years, always staying at one of the resorts (the same one for the last 8 or 9 years). I won't be doing that again! This little cottage is adorable and fully stocked with everything. It's quiet and peaceful, out of the way yet a quick drive to anything you might need. Until I win the lottery and can buy my own St. John villa (hah!), this is my new go-to place!
The cottage was the perfect place to stay during our island getaway. Beautifully decorated, very clean, cozy & comfortable with everything we needed and an amazing ocean view...even more beautiful than the photos. They even have lots of helpful information right there for you. I very highly recommend it, and will most certainly return as soon as possible! It is a short drive to Cruz Bay for shopping, dining & entertainment, and very lovely and easy drive to all of the beaches. Our favorite was Honeymoon Bay. It is well worth the hike to get there. However, every beach we visited (and there were many) was wonderful! For dining we really enjoyed Morgan's Mango, Ronnie's Pizza, Uncle Bob's BBQ, and Skinny Legs in Coral Bay. Thank you Eric and Paula for a spectacular experience!
We absolutely loved Blue Aweigh. It was so beautiful there. Our hosts Paula and Eric were awesome and made us feel right at home. We will definitely go back for a second visit!!

We had a great stay at the Blue Aweigh in St John. My husband and I were there for 4 nights, and found it very accommodating, nice and clean. The owners, Eric & Paula, were very nice, greeted us upon arrival and were available to answer any questions we had during our stay. Yes, their house is located above the cottage but this was not an issue for us, we actually only saw them one other time during the five days we were there. We didn't spend much time in the cottage, as there is so much to do in St John that we were on-the-go each day from morning til evening. The cottage is in a great location - nice views, and still just a 5-10 minute drive into Cruz Bay (you need a car!). St John is a beautiful island and we very much enjoyed our time there. The most important thing when looking back on a place for review is "would I stay here again?" Answer: Yes. Thanks Eric & Paula!
St. John has a thriving economy therefore many homes and condos are being built. Construction is everywhere in the island and can begin anywhere at any time. We are not responsible for construction noise or disruption. We appreciate your understanding in these areas where construction exists. Typically crews begin work between 7:30-8:00 am and 3:30-4:00 pm.

we charge the base rate for 2 person occupancy. Older children (4yrs and up) or additional adult will incur $35/nt additional charge.
50% of rental-including tax due upon making reservation. Damage deposit and balance of rent plus tax due 60 days out from reservation date.
