Overview

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday cottage in Saundersfoot - St Brides Cottage

3 bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen, lounge, dining, conservatory, driveway

St Brides is a beautifully modernised West Wales detached stone cottage - one of the oldest houses in Saundersfoot. It has been in our family for nearly 50 years and was formally owned by an old Sea Captain. All the front rooms have panoramic views of the beach and the bay. We are 200M from Saundersfoot beach, the harbour, the town's shops and restaurants. The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is nearby.

The cottage, with its thick stone walls and beamed ceilings, has been completely fitted out to a high standard for your comfort and enjoyment. There are 3 bedrooms: 1 king, 1 double and 1 bedroom with bunk beds for 2 children. There is an upstairs bathroom and downstairs bathroom/showeroom. The kitchen, dining room and lounge are all separate rooms.

The lounge has a wonderful wood burning stove (fuel provided), large TV with BT Vision/Sport and is equipped with a Yamaha iPod/iPhone player

WiFi is provided via BT and it runs at 4-6Mb. BT Sport is also provided that allows film downloads and recording of your favourite TV shows.

There are books and games provided with the cottage. The books are mostly modern novels - recently bought for reading groups!

Please note: Some upstairs windows have low sills so young children need to take special care.

The Garden: The front garden over looks the bay/beach and is lawned. There are chairs and a table in the conservatory. The rear garden is terraced and left wild as a wildlife sanctuary. There are narrow stone steps in the garden and at least two steep unguarded drops of about 1.5M. The garden is reasonably secure and children need to be responsible. The garden is not completely pet proof. There is a rotary washing line.

There is driveway parking for at least two cars which is accessed off St Brides Hill. The arched gateway to the drive is just wide enough for family cars (2.3M). To leave by car you must reverse out which requires assistance. The driveway is only accessible coming down St Brides Hill. The photographs show the access and driveway.

The amenities of Saundersfoot are within a short walk down St Brides Hill. The long sandy beach (within 200 metres) has safe bathing, good fishing and magical rock pools to explore! The harbour is directly below the cottage with fishing & leisure boats and the Saundersfoot Sailing Club.

The luxurious St Brides Hotel is close by where you can enjoy a great meal or a visit to the luxurous Spa.

We pride ourselves on making your stay as enjoyable as we can. Here's some reviews from guests who stayed in 2013......

'The cottage exceeded all our expectations, clean, spacious, comfortable, full of character and had everything we needed. Owner friendly and helpful. Wonderful views, can't imagine a better place to stay in Saundersfoot'.....

......and another.......

'Just returned from an amazing week at this beautiful cottage. This was the best holiday yet with our three boys (5,4,2). They enjoyed returning to what they call their cottage by the sea........They loved catching bugs in the garden and playing hide and seek around the secret garden. The treasure trove of kid games and spades/nets in the cupboard were excitedly used........'

and another.....

'Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was provided, crisp white linen, plenty of towels, dishwasher with tablets, washing machine, ipod player, tv etc etc. The cottage itself was quaint, with thick stone walls and wide window seats perfect for looking out at the view over the bay. It was better than a hotel, it was like staying at a friends house - a friend with high standards of cleaning!...........'

Our 1st wedding anniversary in st brides cottage

  • 5 out of 5
Our stay at st brides cottage was just fantastic, we were looking for some where we could just relax and feel as if we were at home , st brides cottage did just that . The moment we walked in I knew it was going to be lovely , the hand pull door bell reminded us of downton abbey's butler's call bell . The decor and the furniture were all of high standard, there is a very well equipped kitchen which was great . The two main bedrooms have sea views, you can watch the sea come in while lying in your bed !
Our visit coincided with the Christmas market which was held in the harbour it was lovely with local produce and mulled wine .
Our stay was just great we will return

Cosy cottage with great views / excellent location

  • 5 out of 5
This was our second trip to Saundersfoot and St Brides cottage. And again we were very warmly welcomed by the owners!

The cottage is cosy, very clean and fully equipped. Everything is as per the description and pictures and is in very good condition!

It is only a short walk down the hill to the village and the beach. There is a good Chippy for take-aways right behind the harbour.
At low tide, it is beautiful to walk along the beach to Monkstone Point and then further along the Coastal Path to Tenby. The climb up on to Monkstone Point is exciting and gives you breath-taking views! We were rewarded by ice-creams in Tenby. The bus takes you back. Search the internet for "walkingbritain" and walk no "1209".
Another interesting walk is along the old narrow gauge coal mining railway through the 3 tunnels to Wisemans Bridge – search for "Saundersfoot Railway". The area is steeped in mining history, so we will definitely need to come back to discover some more Lost Places! See also "welshcoalmines.co.uk/pembroke/Bonvilles_Court"
We can also recommend the Heatherton Activities Center for archery, air-guns, go-carts and the water balls - all of us thoroughly enjoyed the day there!

Unfortunately the stay was far too short, so we’ll just have to come back again!

Greetings from Germany - Thomas

PS: We now only have one problem - our 3 kids want to move to the UK permanently!

Wonderful situation with splendid views over the beach and harbour. We were impressed with the standard of the fixtures and fittings and grateful for the wine! Fish and chips at The Marina were outstanding. A very relaxing few days in beautiful surroundings.

We had a lovely stay in this cottage in Saundersfoot. The views are amazing. A very cosy home from home. The complimentary bottles of wine were very welcome, thank you Peter. We would definitely recommend the Kook-a-Bar as a place to eat, good food and lovely atmosphere. All in all a lovely break away in a lovely cottage.
