SEA CAPTAIN'S STONE COTTAGE WITH PANORAMIC VIEWS. PET FRIENDLY. CLOSE TO BEACH

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday cottage in Saundersfoot - St Brides Cottage

3 bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen, lounge, dining, conservatory, driveway

St Brides is a beautifully modernised West Wales detached stone cottage - one of the oldest houses in Saundersfoot. It has been in our family for nearly 50 years and was formally owned by an old Sea Captain. All the front rooms have panoramic views of the beach and the bay. We are 200M from Saundersfoot beach, the harbour, the town's shops and restaurants. The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is nearby.

The cottage, with its thick stone walls and beamed ceilings, has been completely fitted out to a high standard for your comfort and enjoyment. There are 3 bedrooms: 1 king, 1 double and 1 bedroom with bunk beds for 2 children. There is an upstairs bathroom and downstairs bathroom/showeroom. The kitchen, dining room and lounge are all separate rooms.

The lounge has a wonderful wood burning stove (fuel provided), large TV with BT Vision/Sport and is equipped with a Yamaha iPod/iPhone player

WiFi is provided via BT and it runs at 4-6Mb. BT Sport is also provided that allows film downloads and recording of your favourite TV shows.

There are books and games provided with the cottage. The books are mostly modern novels - recently bought for reading groups!

Please note: Some upstairs windows have low sills so young children need to take special care.

The Garden: The front garden over looks the bay/beach and is lawned. There are chairs and a table in the conservatory. The rear garden is terraced and left wild as a wildlife sanctuary. There are narrow stone steps in the garden and at least two steep unguarded drops of about 1.5M. The garden is reasonably secure and children need to be responsible. The garden is not completely pet proof. There is a rotary washing line.

There is driveway parking for at least two cars which is accessed off St Brides Hill. The arched gateway to the drive is just wide enough for family cars (2.3M). To leave by car you must reverse out which requires assistance. The driveway is only accessible coming down St Brides Hill. The photographs show the access and driveway.

The amenities of Saundersfoot are within a short walk down St Brides Hill. The long sandy beach (within 200 metres) has safe bathing, good fishing and magical rock pools to explore! The harbour is directly below the cottage with fishing & leisure boats and the Saundersfoot Sailing Club.

The luxurious St Brides Hotel is close by where you can enjoy a great meal or a visit to the luxurous Spa.

We pride ourselves on making your stay as enjoyable as we can. Here's some reviews from guests who stayed in 2013......

'The cottage exceeded all our expectations, clean, spacious, comfortable, full of character and had everything we needed. Owner friendly and helpful. Wonderful views, can't imagine a better place to stay in Saundersfoot'.....

......and another.......

'Just returned from an amazing week at this beautiful cottage. This was the best holiday yet with our three boys (5,4,2). They enjoyed returning to what they call their cottage by the sea........They loved catching bugs in the garden and playing hide and seek around the secret garden. The treasure trove of kid games and spades/nets in the cupboard were excitedly used........'

and another.....

'Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was provided, crisp white linen, plenty of towels, dishwasher with tablets, washing machine, ipod player, tv etc etc. The cottage itself was quaint, with thick stone walls and wide window seats perfect for looking out at the view over the bay. It was better than a hotel, it was like staying at a friends house - a friend with high standards of cleaning!...........'

QUALITY STAY

  • 5 out of 5
Couldn't have been luckier with the weather, the cottage was perfect for what we needed and well equipped - the TV and stereo made for good entertainment after a busy day in the sun. Already booked next summers visit for a week this time! Recommend Barafundle bay and Skrinkle haven (secluded beach only accessed through a cosy cave) watch out for the tide though! Thanks a lot

BRILLIANT!

  • 5 out of 5
What a delicious find! everything that was promised, and more, helped by superb weather. The views are amazing and kept us enthralled. Loved The Old Chemist Inn in town, discovered an unexpected fine dining experience at Swallow Tree Restaurant in the caravan park just up the road, and spent more than a few sun-drenched hours at Wiseman's Bridge. Peter Naylor (owner) was so helpful, and the cottage excellently equipped and comfortable. Would thoroughly recommend St. Bride's Cottage to anyone - just be prepared for the odd exciting moment exiting the drive!!

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

  • 5 out of 5
They say location is everything and as a holiday cottage St Brides Cottage could not be bettered. Superb views over the bay, harbour and beach and only a couple of minutes walk into the centre of the village.
Inside it's like home from home, comfortable beds, a cosy living room and excellently equipped throughout. The owners have obviously put a lot of thought into making it first class accommodation.
Saundersfoot is a great base for exploring the lovely Pembrokeshire area, whether on foot along the coast or driving further inland.
We only spent a long weekend there this time but have already booked for a longer stay next year.

AMAZING VIEWS

  • 5 out of 5
This was our second stay at St Brides cottage, it has a a fabulous location and it’s always exhilarating to arrive and look out at the view. Peter (the owner) is very helpful with the booking process and also provides a lot of useful information about the cottage and the surrounding area. He has some great eating out recommendations! The cottage is quite unique, very old but nevertheless well equipped and maintained. It’s also very cosy with very comfortable beds. We'll be back again!

FABULOUS SHORT BREAK

  • 5 out of 5
This is an amazing cottage, in a fabulous location. It is extremely well equipped, very, very spacious and comfortable. Just a short stroll and you in town where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. Easy access to cliff and beach walks. All needs are catered for including wifi, movie channels, conservatory for relaxing and much more. This was our first visit and certainly will not be our last....cant wait to go again. We had never been to this part of the country, but we were given guides by the owners on where to go, and the locals were extremely friendly and helpful. We visited Tenby by bus which was just a few miles away, as well as Narberth, but most of the time we just chllled at the cottage and in Saundersfoot. Cannot recommend this cottage and location highly enough.

GREAT WELL EQUIPPED LOCATION WITH FAB VIEWS

  • 5 out of 5
Thanks Pete for a great stay at St Brides Cottage. Thanks for the quick response to our booking enquiry and for all the information you provided about the area which made planning our trip really easy. Once we arrived at the cottage we were amazed by the views from the rooms overlooking the harbour and coastline stretching around the bay. The cottage itself is very quaint but is also well furnished with an easy to light log-burner and a great TV and sound system. Luckily for us the sun was shining for most of the weekend. If you're looking for somewhere with some fresh sea air and great coastal walks, then look no further. We also enjoyed the local go-karting and the surfing in Freshwater West is second to none. Will definitely be returning!
